What do you all think Danny will look for when drafting this year?

I used to live near a kid in Missouri that will be a grad this season that plays for Creighton University. Dane fifty Watts he is a 6'10 big man that can knock down the three, he is also very smart, listens to his coaches and knows and loves the game.

I know it's hard to find a man of that size that can knock down the three and he has some hops as well, Dane isn't just a man that can defend the block but he can also step out and defend if needed.

In Highschool and gradschool I never seen a kid that played so poised under pressure. Though I live in Kentucky now and it's hard to get a Missouri Valley conf game on the television in Kentucky. Here in KY its SEC games or bust.

I would sure like to see Dane in a Celtic Uniform and I could see him growing into a Barry or even Bird type 3 or 4.

I don't know Dane may not make the grade. however seeing him as a child and young man he was to the court as a fish is to water.

I would like to know more about the upcoming draft.
Also what positions will we likley draft for?

Draftexpress has Hasheem Thabeet at 22 at the moment. Though I think he will be top 5 by the end of the year, it would be awesome to somehow nab him. And I'm not from anywhere near the new england area so this isn't a homer speaking.

I am not sure we even have a first round draft choice as I think we sent it to the wolves for KG. However Hasheem does fit the 5 we need though I believe in Perk for our future starter.

It would be nice to get someone like Hasheem as well though it looks as if he may become the next Deke and I don't look for him to drop to the C's.

In the immortal words of the Big Ticker, " get that weak $h*t out of here". Last year we wasted all of our time concentarting on the draft, beginning in January. This year we should just be enjoying the ride and trying to figure out who we'll be playing in the ECF. Draft talk in February is for lame teams with no chance (that resembles our squad from last year).

Picking at 30 or there about, it just doesn`t get better. The best part will be when some players start sliding and we end up with a very nice player.

Danny is a good drafter I am sure he will be able to find nice talent at the end of the first round.

Thankyou masta wicka for you kind words. maybe you would like to just predict our ending record since your not to worried about our future in the next 5 years how about you stop worshiping wicka and start practicing voodoo.

Then maybe we wouldn't have to worry about the future.

We do have a pick and based on the past, we'll get a top ten to top five player at #30. (Rondo top five at 21, Powe top ten at 47, Gomes almost top ten at 50, Jeffersen top five at 15).

I think because we have Baby and Powe, we go for a SF that defends. Someone like Gomes with more speed.

Pruitt is looking better and better. His shot is sweet. His handle is surprisingly good. He defends.

To think a center is going to fall is simply too much for even DA.

This is somewhat optimistic. I think we'll get a solid contributor, but you can't really expect to get a top 5 or 10 player at #30.

We do have this years first. Just not next years. And it is always okay to talk about the draft.

Although we do have baby and poweistill thinkwe will go big. Trent plaisted from byu with the last pick of the first round good post player and rebounder and we need some height and he should be there at #30. He will be a steal.

im kinda interested those 2 talented 7 foot centers from turkey, Omar Asik and Semih Erden.
i think perkins is our week point in the starting lineup and we seriously need to look for a young replacement center.

I love to see us take Nathan Jawai or Joey Dorsey.

Bill Walker is another guy I see low on Mocks that I think will be good.

The Pope:

I don't think it is optimistic at all. DA puts in the work, has a great eye for talent and we have a great developement culture on the team.

Powe is playing at top ten as is Gomes almost. Jeffersen is arguably the best of his class. This time next year Baby will have enhanced his game and be playing top ten. Rondo is certainly top 5. (TA would have been top ten but for his injury.)

I think the role player is the lock down power 3. A replacement for Posey.

The guy has the absolute worst work ethic by all accounts from those that know him...its like pulling teeth to get him to listen to anybody and he does the absolute minimum to get by...

...Thabeet looks like a classic "paycheck and out" player...he'll retire on his team as soon as he gets paid...JMO

We will just have to take the best player on the board when we pick at number 30.

^ Really, thas an interesting tidbit. I was basing my opinion on how much improvement he has made from last year, where I laughed at the idea that he was a good prospect to the guy I have seen this year. This certainly makes me more wary of the guy. Any chance he has turned oa corner and your info is based on discussions prior to his improved play.

One of the two would suffice, but Malik is a better fit
