3/2 Celts over Hawks victory Cigar

Post#1 » by Spin Move » Mon Mar 3, 2008 1:31 am

3 very good options tonight, 20 and 16 from KG, 30 and 6 from Pierce, Perkins having a very good game with 11 12 6 assists and 4 blocks. I went with Pierce becuase i think without his monster 3rd quarter there is no way we win this game, VERY VERY close over perk though who had a very fine game.

Gotta be Pierce for me. He unleashed in the 3rd and blew it open, and then KG carried us to the finish line while Paul rested.

Perk, without a doubt. He's been playing out of his mind lately. If he continues to play like that until the end of the season, I think we have an NBA Finals appearance locked up already.

This is a tough one. Pierce was key in the 3rd, but absent in the 2nd. KG was solid all night. 22 and 16, plus great D. Perk was certainly a difference maker when he was in, but foul trouble kept him on the bench a bit longer than I would like, but how can you not like 11, 12, 6 and 4? But, on this day, it is Garnett for his overall consistency and rebounding.

3/2 Victory Cigar - For the 46th time

Post#5 » by sully00 » Mon Mar 3, 2008 1:36 am

Solid win, monster second half from Pierce, the Hawks hung in there on the road though, Bibby helps them a lot.

KG and Pierce were awesome but Perk cannot be ignored tonight.

For me, it's:

1. Kevin Garnett

2. Paul Pierce

3. Kendrick Perkins

4. Ray Allen

KG would be the logical choice.

But to hell with that! I'm voting for Perk!

With Garnett grabbing 16 rebounds and scoring 20 points (9-18 ) in 35 minutes, I'd say that he's back.

What bothers me is that on a day when Ray Allen shoots 7-11 for 17 points, he only took 11 shots; while Rajon Rondo went 2-11 and Eddie House went 2-9.

If I'm coaching this team, I find a way to get Ray more shots on days when he is on. Or, ask Rondo and House to give it up on days when they're not. Either would work better.

Especially in the playoffs against tough teams in close games.

I went with KG tonight. Three hard choices to pick from.

Perk just put this thing away in the fourth quarter. 3 straight defensive rebounds and the blocks. He is just doing all of the work he wasn't doing in FEB.

How far has Rondo come he drops 8 dimes with one TO and doesn't even get a nomination?

Well what do we give Baby Davis? He could have hit Leon Powe twice for open baskets instead he decided to take it to the hoop himself.

And Doc takes Powe out and leaves Baby in?
Rewards Baby and sends powe to the bench. Geez

Surprised that KG is beating out Pierce here...I think its either Perk or Pierce all the way...

Although I will admit that subconciously, I probably punish Pierce and KG because I expect them to be awesome every day...

i'm giving perk the props. this is his 2nd outstanding game in a row and a great stat line with a double double plus 6 dimes and 4 rejections.
kg and pierce are expected to deliver this.
not to mention rondo who had 8 assists after having 16 the last game. i hope he continues to distribute the ball this way.

KG gets this one. Just an overall great performance on both ends of the court. AND he dominated the paint in this game.
