They've been playing tramendously the last three games. Perk is averaging 13.3 PPG, 13.7 RPG and 3.7 BPG over the last 3. Rondo is averaging 8 APG over the last 6.
Believe it or not, but I think Perk is the most important factor in our championship run. If he continues to dominate the glass, I feel really good about our chances.

^i think their emergence is because of the signing of PJ and sam. they have a chance of starting a very good career by winning a championship with this special group of players. However, they wouldn't be recognized if they will be under the shadows of old guys like PJ and sam who could still deliver at this stage of their career. Not to mention, the attention that goes to the big 3 cornerstone in KG,P2 and ray.
It is a realization for them that in order for them to have a good career, they need to establish a mark now that they are in a team with a very solid core. They are trying to raise their value as a player because they will be the future of this team and they're trying to prove that now.

Agreed. Rondo has been more consistent for a longer period but I hope both of them can sustain this level of play and even step it up a notch higher in the playoffs.

Perk said he started playing more aggressive after the CLE game when he had 1 rebound for the whole night. You can just see it now he is ripping down these rebounds. His scoring is what it is. You know what I mean. Every point he gets you is a bonus.
For us to excede he has tp be aggressive on the boards and D. That is it from him.

Firstly Powe and BBD aren't half the defensive players Perkins is. KG has been an awesome defender forever yet his teams rarely ranked high in defensive categories, so lets give Perk some credit here.
AS for Rondo, I'm really psyched about the way he played yesterday. He wasn't very good in the second half but I loved that he stayed aggressive. I'd rather him start from the point of being too aggressive and learning when to pull back, as opposed to not being aggressive and wondering when he is going to attack.
This brings me back to some of the concerns I have about Sam. There were points in the game yesterday if Sam had been here, Doc would have put him in the lineup for good, understandably. But, IMO thats going to deprove Rondo of experiences like yesterday where he needed to go through the ups and downs of a tightly contested battle. The more I watch the more I feel I'd rather have Rondo gets those minutes and take the good with the bad.

100% right 'P2"....
Perk's superlative performance on the glass allows KG to excel offensively as he dosent have to do it all underneath.... Together this tandum is dynomite.... and the pair exploded all over the Detroit Pistons last night!
When Perk plays well, we win most games!

I share this concern to a certain extent but it can become a non-issue if Doc sticks to his word about Rondo being the #1 at PG and if Rondo continues to play well. The one thing that is clear is that Rondo is an elite level PG, something that Cassell is not. It should be obvious to Doc and the coaching staff which player is making a bigger impact, and most times that should be Rondo if he plays like he did last night.

The only time we had problems yesterday was when House was at PG and the second unit was in. That is why adding Cassell is so important. We will be a much, much better team with Sam as the backup PG leading the reserves...
I agree that it is important that Rondo gathers experience in such close games but in the playoffs with 2 minutes to go on offense I would go with Sam. He can make shots, he can hit free throws, he has the experience...
