OT KJ's running for mayor of Sactown

I just caught this on ESPN. I always think it's interesting when former athletes get into politics. KJ was always a favorite player of mine too. I'm glad to see he's trying to make a difference in his home town. He seems like a really good guy.

this is cool. his non profit sounds like it's pretty active. it's nice to read about NBA stars trying to do something more with their cash than entertaining themselves. is he a democrat, republican or he is too cool to be a party hack?

I'm a registered Democrat, so it's a good thing in my opinion. I don't think a Republican could possibly win in Sacramento anyway.

Arnold's not a democratic - the social conseravtives has corrupted the republican party. The new wave of socially tolerant and fiscally smart Rebulicans will soon win back some mindshare. Hopefully McCain is a sign of things to come.
It was an unholy alliance between the social conservatives and the fiscal conservatives that was just made for political reasons..that has given Republicans such a bad rep..
You get the worst of both worlds with Bush - sad to say. A big spending goverment that blows money left and right running up the national debt while at the same time heeding the will of the Christian right.
Now though Democrats are trying to steal away the conservatves playing up their religion..

It's crazy to see where the republicans are now in comparison to the days of Lincoln or even Eisenhower. the republicans don't stand for small government anymore. They stand for bloated "defense" spending and no social spending.
honestly, i hope one the major parties fragments into several smaller parties in my life time. politics in this country is so corrupt it is perverse.
