The Showdown!!

Tuesday night, best record in the league goes up against 22 game win streak.

The Rockets just beat the co-best of the West, the Lakers( ), and now have peaked. Great job McGrady and Co., but it all comes to a grinding halt on Tuesday. The Celtics come into Houston and take one. Book it.

If only the Celtics didn't play San Antonio tomorrow night. Hopefully they can stay fresh.

Hard to believe the game against the Spurs is second fiddle, but right now that's the way it is.

Plus, the Houston game is nationally televised.

I cant wait for the celts to end this streak. If they don't do it, then it will be someone horrid such as memphis.

This is going to be a good game. The Celts aren't going to back down. They are gunning to end the streak.

How are we eating crow when the game hasn't even been played yet?

If the Rockets' streak ends, it would be better for them to lose to a team of the caliber of the Celtics, Hornets, or Suns, rather than some pathetic lottery bound team.

This game is apparently going to be on TNT. Kind of lucky to happen to get this game due to March madness.

This is going to be a good game. Possibly the game of the regular season. Too bad Yao won't be playing...

Does anyone know if Ray will play?

(Gulp)........ I made my prediction on a game that is second in a Texas back-to-back, perhaps without a healthy Ray Allen.

But I still say the Celtics take it, and I suspect Allen will play if at all possible. Haven't heard anything about his status yet.

I'm guessing we either lose tonight and win tomorrow or lose both games. I just don't see us playing that hard tonight. I think this team is gunning to end that streak. A championship and ending the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history is something I think this years Celtics wants to be known for.

What? I guess teams don't really get up for games against defending champs, huh?

^^^^This is the regular season and we already have clinched a playoff spot. If the game is close, the team is going to compete. If the Spurs come out like gangbusters and score early on, I think Doc would take it easier than usual.

I doubt it. It's more likely they play hard through the road trip and once we clinch home court, we take the foot off the gas and give everyone some rest.

Remember, we're not the defending champs and Spurs are a good team for the Celtics to guage themselves against. And I have no doubt the Celtics will come out with fire to make a statement.

Think about it logically. Why would they take the Spurs game easy, when they finish the season against Miami, @Chicago, Indiana, @Charlotte, @Milwaukee, @Washington, Milwaukee, @Atlanta, @NY and NJ.

Where did you get the idea that we're going to take it easier than usual against the defending champs? It's okay to admit your wrong. I've done it many times too.

It turns out the Spurs did score early on, but the C's stepped it up a notch instead of taking it easy. Ended up a good strategy.

The Rockets are likely going to re-enter the Earth's orbit now, perhaps back to .500-.600 for here on out. That winning streak was a phenomenal achievement, but it must be hard to see it end with a 20pt loss.
