General Board
After all the dismay about TNT not mentioning what we did once, ESPN beign just a little better I thought it'd be nice to point out that RealGM has taken notice.
Looks like someone noticed what we just did to SA and HOU without Ray Allen... it's something I didn't think I'd see unless we won 70 games.
But fans of other teams are calling us the best team in the NBA and only NetsForce disagrees [I'm sure Cevap just hasn't noticed yet]
I thought it significant enough to show just the amount of respect we're getting from NBA fans. And give us a thread to talk about how great we.. ehrm... out team is!

It's nice and all, but honestly, who cares? *We* know the C's are great, but let's just enjoy the season and the run to try and win #17 and leave all the accolades to everyone else. The coaches and players don't care about any of this, why should we?

I love the way TV says we're the best team in the league ''record wise''
Who else is there to beat?
We've beaten every good team.

This "record-wise" argument is always backhanded.
I don't care what you say, at the end of the day what are teams judged on? THE RECORD. Otherwise, why have standings. Why not just declare San Antonio or Detroit or the Lakers or whoever is hot at the moment the best team?
Sometimes (most of the times, actually) analysts are so stupid!

Here's more:
Rondo's youth/inexperience
lack of a capable backup point guard
Perkins not good enough

3 Superstars - only 1 basketball. It's not going to work out.
Their defense sucks.
All 3 superstars are old and injury prone.

Here are some more I got sick and tired of hearing:
easy schedule
no quality opponents
mostly home games
blah blah blah blah

Like another poster said worrying about 'respect" is a waste of time. it's fun to be a fan of a great team - just enjoy that.

It's nice to be recognised. However, being the best regular season team doesn't count for **** in the playoffs, look what happened to Dallas last year.

We would sweep last year's Dallas team, we are a much better team. Comparing us to totally different teams is stupid, it's something ESPN does when they need to manufacture stories, you shouldn't be doing it.
What Dallas did last year, has nothing to do with what we are doing this year.

I really don't think Boston sports fans, this year of all years, should forget the difference between regular season success and championships.
The Celtics are the best team in the league RIGHT NOW, and have been throughout the season. This makes them credible FAVORITES to be the best team in June. But it's hardly a slam-dunk.
That said -- it's a far, far better place than the franchise was in a year ago.

That's good that they finally realize something that's been true since Day 1 of the season.

What I don't get is that while the Laker's went on their winning streak after they acquired Gasol everyone quickly proclaimed them the best team in the league even though we had the better (record and still do) and we demolished them twice (albeit without Gasol). Also the media is more willing to call a western team the best in the league as apposed to a eastern team but the problem with that is that our C's have beaten all of the best teams in the west except for Phoenix (which we will eventually see again at home for the rematch).

LA was putting their streak together and while media was eyeballing us we had our worse run of the season, climaxed by the PHNX loss.
Remeber we recently lost 3 games in a row at that point. And this isn't the media though it's a RealGM fans. Who don't jump to annoint a new team over their own.
