we ever got 1st pick and drafted Oden...

Do you think Danny Ainge will trade him?

Or do you think our record will improve if we kept him?

Just curious.

If we got the top pick in last years draft Danny would have picked Oden. I believe he would have still made the move to get KG though. I think he'd have to to make Paul Happy.

We would not be as good this year with Oden rather then Ray, but the future would have probably been brighter. But who knows, Oden's injury might be a nagging injury.

I bet he'd have taken Durant. Wouldn't have traded him and the Celtics would be terrible.

I think Ainge has gone on the record saying he would have taken KD.

Pierce said the only way he wouldn't demand a trade is if the celtics either traded for a vet or if they drafted Oden. He felt Oden was the only sure thing superstar in that draft.

He can say whatever he wants after the fact. Ainge would've taken Oden. And we would have kept him.

Why? Seriously. Because that is what you would have done?

No Ainge would have taken Durant because he had Jefferson and Perkins who he believed in and for the most part rightly so. I think he may have tried to convince Paul to stay as teaming with Rondo/Durant/Jefferson/Perkins likely could have been a really solid. But more likely he would have moved Pierce to contender perhaps getting involved in that deal between GS and CHA and picking up the big exception and taken a player like Al Thornton who is now in LAC and perhaps snagging Monta Ellis in the process.

I think he was prepared to do this with Yi instead of Durant and that would have been shaky and I am real glad the Ray Allen move came through.

I think he believed in Oden more than Perkins and rightfully so. At worst he drafts Oden then trades his draft rights for Durant's and a future first round pick.
