FYI: Injured Celtic Players During Losses

No team is fortunate to be healthy all season.

However, the Celtics, I said at the start of the season, were very dependent on their top 9 players. They really had no replacement for their top 8, which were the starters, plus James, Eddie and Tony.

Anyway, here's who was not available for 8 of the 15 losses. I include Scot Pollard in a few before he was shut down because Doc was trying to rest him when he was needed against Bigs like Cleveland's Ilgauskas and Washington's Brendon Haywood.

Opponent ****** Date ***** Score *** Injured Players

Charlotte ****** 1/9 ****** 95-83 *** Ray Allen, Glen Davis

Washington **** 1/12 ***** 85-78 *** Rajon Rondo, Scot Pollard

Washington **** 1/14 ***** 88-83 *** Scot Pollard, 21 limping minutes of Rajon Rondo

Toronto ******* 1/23 **** 114-112 ** James Posey

Orlando ******* 1/27 ***** 96-93 **** Kevin Garnett, Glen Davis, Scot Pollard

Cleveland ***** 2/5 ****** 114-113 *** Kevin Garnett, Scot Pollard

New Orleans *** 3/22 **** 113-106 *** Tony Allen

Philadelphia *** 3/24 ****** 95-90 *** Tony Allen

I think what's more interesting are the games we've WON with injured players! Very impressive!

7-2 without KG, including wins over the Spurs and Mavs. 6-1 without Ray Allen, including wins @ San Antonio and Houston (and to a lesser degree, a quality win @ Toronto).

This team definitely doesn't use injuries as an excuse to lay down and lose games.

Seeing those stats, it just really becomes obvious just how valuable Scott Pollard was to the team. He was missing in half of those games. I definitely cried a little after hearing about the devastating season-ending injury. I'm hoping the other bigs on the team are able to step their games up to fill in the gaping hole that Pollard's absence will present.

Shows the importance of Paul Pierce. He's been the only constant during those wins with players out injured.
