Your biggest playoff fear?

Post#1 » by UGA Hayes » Thu Apr 10, 2008 3:16 pm

Just want to get the pulse of people on things that they are concerned the most about going into the playoffs.

Not including injuries by the way.

I realized last night that one thing that concerns me is that James Posey is going to be a crutch for Doc during the playoffs. IMO if you throw out the opening stretch of the season Posey hasn't played very well only sprinkling in good games. Additionally Doc tends to go to him even when we playing teams that kill us on the boards as was happening last night.

What are your biggest fears?

Losing 4 games to another team. 8)

Really, other than injuries, I have no fear. If this team plays to their capabilities, and they've done that throughout the year, than they can beat anyone.

The Celtics have been touted as a legit title contender. If that's the case, and I believe it is, they shouldn't have much trouble with any team in the East other than Detroit.

Injuries and biased officiating are the two things that could derail this team at this point.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Injuries

Lebron-I know he's only one guy but he puts fear in me when we play them just like Jordan. There's no other player in the league I fear more.

I'm afraid I'll die of boredom waiting for the playoffs to start. The Washington game had a pulse, but without Rondo out there all we did was walk it up every time, it just wasn't Celtic's attack basketball. Other than that these last few games have been sleepers.

Same here. Does anyone think if this was a couple of months ago and the C's *really* cared, the game in Mil would have gone into OT or they would have lost to the Wiz last night? Not me! 8)

The first round comparison doesnt count, GS deserved to be in the playoffs, ATL deserves to be in the lottery

Looks like people are already getting their scapegoats in line. Celtics win KG, PP, RA get the credit, Celtics lose it's Doc's fault.

Doc Rivers has coached great and will continue to do so in the playoffs.

Actually the whole season Ive been saying watch out for Doc in the playoffs, I think the team is too good this year for him to mess it up though. Ill be honest though, Ive been getting less upset at Doc each game this season and would love to see him win COY even though B Scott deserves it

I hope you're right, because he hasn't coached well in the playoffs in the past.

I'm worried about the refereeing, especially given Stern's "love" of the Celtics and the fact that you know how desperately the league either wants the Lakers or LeBron to win.

I think the thing to keep an eye on (not to fear) is Rondo's ability to handle the types of defense's he'll be seeing in the playoffs. I believe he'll excel if the defenses lay off him but there's just no telling until the man proves that he can get the job done in the playoffs.
