nbadraft.net has us taking DJ White out of Indiana St...another undersized PF...don't really need that at all (BB, Powe)..
Douglas Roberts could be interesting to try out..we also still have Gabe locked up til the end of next season, who is a better option at the 2..imo
but with where our pick is at I don't see any draft prospect that really fits our main need, center..so its just get the best player possible..so why not

He is a top 15 player. I would find that hard to believe if he is there for us at 30.

DJ went to Indiana University, not Indiana St - BIG difference. He wouldnt be a bad pick at 30. Easily the best player in the big ten this season. He's an injury risk though.

yeah..you're right..I read "Indiana Sr." and thought it was "St."

He won't fall that far, but I wish we would.

He has too many first names. What is wrong with having one first name and one last name.
He is too short, a lot of good college teams have players that star but don't have NBA positions.

Where do you think Curry would have gone if he came out this year?

I don't like him that much. He actually reminds me of Adam Morrison a little bit. He has unmistakable scoring talent, but he doesn't really rebound or do anything else beside score and even worse his scoring tends to be long 2 pointer type shots. I'd pass.

Hmmm a guy who is not well rounded, not that athletic, not that tall, and in my honest opinion helped shave points his freshman year?
No I don't think I'm interested in that, sorry.

Lets not take this guy we need a backup 3 or a backup 5. Ainge is in portsmouth and in articleinglobe likes the talent maybe pat calathes from st josephs. College seniorsareperfectfor this team because they will contribute somehing right away though the upside is much less.

The Memphis team he was on freshman year is one of three teams that the gamblers talk about as teams that it seems like probably shaved points. Bizarre line movements, plus horrendous play late. I lost the link to the game tape of the Baylor-memphis game, but that is the one that seems most shady.
Anyway, its all conjecture. But one of the other 3 teams that was frequently talked about was Toledo's football team from 3 or 4 years ago-and there are actually court cases on that one right now.
What I'm saying certainly isn't public knowledge, though (other than Toledo) so take it with a grain of salt...but if Bill can blast Thabeet's work ethic all over the boards, I figure I can at least mention that C-D-R is a guy that a bunch of us degenerates think used to be a shaver...

Thats interesting. I don't know anything about the individual memphis players but I've always had a bad vibe about Calipari and how many top players, especially ones ewith runners, always seem willing to follow him around. Plus if you listen to him be interviewed he doesn't blow you away with his bball knowledge.

If you remember that team back then, they had some seedy customers get kicked off the team...including Mr. All Everything Basketball, Sean Banks.

i dont want an undersized power forward anymore. i want a legit 7 footer or a pass first pg. i want dj augustin or im hoping that one of hibbert, thabeet, robin lopez could slip to us. maybe we can move up to get one of the 7 footers. nikola pekovic from montenegro is also an interesting big.

I think we have to take the BPA/slider. if it's an undersized PF, so be it. remember Baby and Powe are only under contract for 1 more year. they may be asking for lots of cash, since winning teams always overvalue players.
DE has us taking Richard Hendrix. Don't recall ever seeing him, but I think he fits the mold of a solid defender/rebounder we need, but he's undersized at 6-8. I wouldn't be opposed to taking him or someone like that, stash him in the D-league for a year, and then see how contract negotiations go with Powe and Baby.

Agreed, Particleman. We don't really have any needs (well, backup C would be nice, another young big always good) so you just take the best player.

actually that is a damn good point.
It feels strange to be trying to get into draft mode this late, and even now to not care all that much.
I'd forgotten what a meaningful post season feels like.
