Tom Thibodeau - next Knicks coach?

Say it ain't so! I would hate for Thibodeau to help the Knicks!

A source close to the new Knicks boss says that Walsh is certain to make a coaching change and that former Knick Mark Jackson and former Bulls coach Scott Skiles are two candidates to replace Thomas. Knicks assistant Herb Williams and Celtics assistant coach Tom Thibodeau also could be under consideration.

I'm not saying it couldn't happen, but it seems like for every coaching vacancy, writers are just throwing Thibodeau's name into the mix, because why not really? It seems like the assistant coach of the best team in the league would usually get some form of consideration.

It would be either Scott Skiles or Mark Jackson. I think Mark Jackson is willing to coach and if they call he will accept. Skiles has been waiting and is probably looking forward to coach to prove that the job in Chicago wasn't a fluke.

During last nigths telecast, where they listed Thibodeau's title, it listed him as "Associate Head Coach", or something like that. Never heard of that title before, and it seems that Thibodeau is already racking up the promotions. maybe the Celts should just have dual head coaches next season?

Associate Head Coach was Thib's title when Doc hired Tom.

The Celts lucked into Thib when, after 2 days on the job in Washington, Thib felt that Eddie Jordan (the Coach) and Ernie Grunfield (the GM) weren't on the same page. So, after two days with the Wiz, Tom asked for his release, got it, and then wound up with the Celts.

Knicks should've hired him back when Van Gundy quit.
