NYK forum is funny...

Post#1 » by campybatman » Mon Apr 14, 2008 1:50 pm

Here's a sample of some of the front page threads on the New York forum.

Talk about nothing to talk about. Does anyone recall if the Boston forum last season was like this? I doubt it.

Sticky: THE TANKING RACE THREAD

What type of booty do you prefer?
How many 5 year old could you take in a fight?
OT- Kim K's sex tape

Well, the Knicks board allows way more OT topics than other forums. But we definitely had a tanking race thread.

LOL Ive been looking at it all season and the threads have been like this all year. The best thread was quotes of the season, there was one from D Lee I remmeber he said this was the first game we actually tried or something like that and a lot of great Zeke quotes

They were the same people that accused us for tanking last year.

when I feel down, I just go the Knicks forum, scroll there a bit, read some of the front page threads and thank God that I'm not a Knicks fan.

That is quite possibly the worst forum I've ever seen.

And the guy who wrote about the different types of booty made a goof, those were all girls...for the Knicks board shouldn't they have all been dudes? 8)
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I feel it begins at the top: The moderators aren't checking the quality or content of the threads on the board or could careless. The general mood is of indifference on there.

I wouldn't want to generalize, because I'm sure one of the biggest boards here at RealGM can only exist through proper moderation. However, in my past life as a mod of this board, I had the misfortune of interacting with a mod or two over there and they left a lot to be desired.

NOTE EDITED, to reduce the possibility of a flame war...Spin

I think that the worst posters on the Celtics board would be great mods on the Knicks board.

That board was almost uncomfortable, just to peruse, let alone read.

Sleaze-city over there. Not surprising for the NYK, tho!

Well when your own players go on the record saying as much do you blame the public for believing it?

Accused us for tanking? Of tanking?

Many of us want to tank because they see it more than just a spot at the top of the lottery but it also spells the end of Isiah Thomas. Others wanted the Knicks to win less than 23 games to rub it in Isiah Thomas' face (that was Larry Brown's win total here). Bottom line is, we want a top pick but we also want big changes in the organization. This season seems to have accomplished that.

I'm glad you guys don't like our board. Too many fans of other teams do & try to take part in it. We talk about everything basketball, music, politics & yes, sex.

Good points, and I don't blame you. I think any fan of any team would be upset if their team was run the way Isiah and Dolan have run the Knicks. You put your heart and soul into rooting for your favorite basketball team, and the management basically takes a dump on center court. That's how you Knicks fans have been treated, and I honestly (even as a Celtics fan!) hope things get better for you fans.

And as far as the comments here, I mean, people are just clowning around. Come back to this board as often as you like to talk bball!

I knew you weren't all bad  seriously though, usually fans of other teams love coming onto our board to comment on the OT threads. The mentality of our board is kind of like "I know the posters here, don't know anyone on the general OT board, I'm just going to post it here to get responses from the members I know" Plus when things like Spitzer's love of whores costs him his job there should be a thread about it on the NY boards (hell, even the Chicago board had one!)

Anyway, best of luck to your team (minus Scalabrine, Posey & House) & I look forward to a Lakers/Celtics finals (with Kobe bringing home #4, of course)

   Of course! We're plenty used to corrupt politicians here in Boston, too.

I love the state of the Knicks forum right now. There are a lot of great people over there, and if their team wasn't an abortion there'd be too much arguing about basketball, and not enough booty threads.
