fans hating on Rondo, when will he get respect?

Somebody here nominated Rondo for MIP the other day. I wouldn't go that far as I think Hedo deserves that award

but Rondo has taken some huge steps this year- I am just curious when the rest of the league will start to notice

for example see below from last night's game threa

rondo reminds me of this guy in Souh carolina I knew some years back.. He swore he was good, he would take these wild 20 foot hook shots that would sometimes go in. I mean off the backboard, swish, off the top of the backboard, he would sometimes drive, trip and throw up a shot that would find the basket.. You couldn't tell this guy he wasn't good... LOL.. It must have been rondo's relative... this guy rondo is a clown.. I am sorry.. I have no respect for his game... besides the fact that he can defend.. big deal.. so can mardy collins..

Public warning for the title. Really no reason for it.

Ah, whatever. Sour grapes or something, who knows? Clearly the guy hasn't seen many games. Besides, just from that description, substitute the name "Wade" with "Rondo" as far as the description of the driving games goes.

someone posted this in the game thread. but my comment that i didnt add is if that were even remotley the case, than why is rondo shooting at a 49% clip? It MUST be luck lol.. You gotta also look at who is saying this. That particular fan base has had zero to cheer about this yr so bitterness is to be expected..It's all good, we know what Rondo is and so do many people in the media

It's pretty obvious that person doesn't watch Rondo play.
Sure he plays different then any other PG in the league right now.
That's what makes him so effective.
He developed his jumper and is a great passer/ball handler.
The reason he doesn't have 8 apg per game is because everyone else averages 4 apg along with his 5. The man shoots nearly 50 percent and hes a PG!
Jeez

Didn't the Knicks pass up Rondo in the draft in favor of Balkman?

Just a jealous Knick fan upset that we have a real point guard and they don't, jealous that we got the point guard they could have had.

In the 2006 draft NY passed up Rondo, Marcus Williams, Kyle Lowry and Jordan Farmer in favor of Balkman. LOL

To be fair to Balkman, if he were on a decent team I think he would be ok. Put him on our team and he would be able to fill a role. With that being said I LOVE RONDO.

I don't think some dumb Knicks fan represents all of the NBA fans.

How is Rondo a clown? And is he trying to imply most of Rondo's shots are luck? Hah. Funny. There has to be some other reason TKF hates him that much.

Rondo actually got 3 votes from today's ESPN writer's/broadcasters poll for MIP includung Jalen Rose and Mark Jackson so he isn't getting completely ignored.

Maybe I should rethink my opinion if it coincides w/ Jalen Rose.

When? At some point during the playoffs.
But even now a lot of people realize he's good.

Rondo's an all star within 3 years, let those demented fans think what they want. Hatred supercedes common sense, remember that.

I'm sure Rondo stays up late at night wishing fans on realgm.com message boards would respect him. C'mon, the media has been respecting him all season but you're going to get mad that a disgruntled Knick fan doesn't respect the guy?

I think we'll have 4 all-stars next year - Rondo and Billups are the top 2 PG's in the East. If Arenas doesn't count as a true PG.

The West is another story, of course.

New Yorkers don't know anything about sports. Why do people keep quoting them?

Andre Miller says hello. I like Rondo as much as anybody on this board, but overlooking what Miller did for Philly this year would be a mistake. He's damn good, notorious celtic killer in years past as well.
