Yeah I read this yesterday. Good stuff! But of course, since Bill Simmons is a Celtics homer, it's not surprising.

Everything is true, especially when he mentions earlier in the article the NBA screwing the C's again by letting Portland have cap relief for Darius Miles' *injury*, while we were on the hook for Bias, Lewis, and even Vin Baker.
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

yupp, thats why these mvp arguments i don't pay any attention to them

its not the statistically best player...it's the most valuable player

and this year it was clearly kevin garnett, whether he wins the hardware or not

Exactly. But it's become MBSP (most statistically-best player)

I also thought the League MVP should go to the player that is most valuable not to his team but to the League. Yes, KG is the Celtics MVP and did a lot for them, but Chris Paul did the same for the Hornets, Kobe for the Lakers and Labron for the Cavs.

But look at the impact KG had on the league as a whole. He took the second worst team last year to be the best. He brought more attention to the NBA than Kobe, Paul or LaBron. Without the KG, the Gasol trade does not happen, without that trade the Shaq and Kidd trades don't happen. That is impact. That is valuable.

Not only that, he made the C's, arguably the most important and marquee franchise in the league, relevant and exciting again.

If it was all about stats, i think kobe would have won it the year he went off for 35ppg and then i think Lebron would win it this year. It's not really all about stats. Lakers are #1 in the West, Pau has played less then 30 games Bynum has played less then 30 games. Kobe is playing with a torn pinky finger that requires surgery and went out there all 82 games. Kobe clearly deserves it this year. If y'all already had KG in boston, and had landed Pierce and Ray would KG be looked at the same way as he is now or would Pierce or Ray be MVP?

1. Kobe
2. CP3
3. KG
4. Lebron
