Since no one made it yet, a victory cigar thread for our first playoff win.
Lots of good games tonight, a very balanced effort. Outstanding line for Rondo in his first ever playoff game, in only 28 minutes.

Gotta be Rondo. In his first playoff game ever, he absolutely dominated Mike Bibby (52 career playoff games).

Gotta give it to the lil general. He took over at the end of the 3rd quarter to put the game totally out of reach. One of the best young pg's in the game without a doubt.

Rondo had a near triple double with NO TURNOVERS in his first playoff game and he was clutch in the third. Gotta go with RR.

Rondo deserves it. What a playoff debut.

Im giving it to Ray because he was our highest scorer today, and played some pretty damn good defense against Atlanta's best player (joe johnson)... who was almost a non factor.

Going with Rondo.
He just dominated tonight putting up 15 and 9 with no Turnovers.
The more i watch him the more i want to see him play.

Rondo easily...he was playing great out there. I love the confidence in him right now.

Rondo, he played a near perfect game. Great D on Bibby, scored 15 on 6-9 from field, 3-4 from line, 9 assists to 0 turnovers and had a shot at a triple double if Doc played him in the 4th.

I went with Ray Allen. I thought he was a main reason the Celtics pulled away in the second half. He did have a solid defensive game as well.

The thing is, Rondo should continue to play well in the series considering they have no point guard that could cover him. Bibby will score points over the next 3 games, but Rondo's job is to make him work for them. He literally and completely shut down Bibby in game one, no doubt about it.

I've always thought Bibby was slightly overrated back in Sacramento. He had one great postseason where he hit some big shots and all of a sudden everyone thought he was "Mr. Clutch". Then when he wasn't as great in the following years, everyone was scratching their heads wondering why.
That said, he can score and I don't see him having shite games like he did last night. The Hawks will still lose, though!

by the end of the playoffs people might *gasp* start talking about the THREE elite PGs coming up in the league!

Rondo is just so composed out on the floor. He threw up that air ball and just came right back and took an ever more difficult shot like nothing happened. I love Pierce but we talked about learning to play with composure when he was 27-28 years old. The kid flat out just gets it.

Unfortunately I doubt it. It's fashionable now to not like anything related to Boston/New England sports.
Plus his game isn't as predicated on scoring the way Chris Paul's is.
But I'm damn glad we have Rondo...what a steal in the draft!

Rondo. Ray doesn't even get those shots if Rajon didn't make such a concerted effort to set him up.

Contributions were made by all who played. Gotta give the most props to Rondo though. I love that he has stepped up to all challenges this season. No fear.
Play of the game: Powe's dunk and then foul. That was pure man powe(r). What made it even more impressive is that Smith had blocked a similar dunk attempt earlier on. So Powe came at him even harder the second time around. LOVE that attitude.
