This board was ten times more active last year than this year.

oh, that explains it.

actually the game threads have been a LOT shorter this year than last. last year hardly a game thread wasn't 20-30 pages, now it's lucky if we get to 10. people like to complain and armchair quarterback a lot more than they like to type things like "woot".

there are a few new faces but the main posters were here last year too.

Hmm? It used to be a ton more active. Most of the trolls have left - and our course is pretty much set. This has really cut DOWN on the postings. It's LOSING that breeds the posts - as everyone has theories on how to fix things or what the course should be.

the realgm community is pretty hardcore fans, of all teams

i think alot of the fairweather fans exist out in the real world rather than here

Then your memory sucks. Our game threads got to 35-40 pages regularly last year and we didn't reach 5 pages on a few occasions this year and the only game threads that reached 30+ were the Pistons games, I believe.

This board was far more active last year when the team sucked.

In comparison to last year this board it is dead...

It would really be interesting to see how many posts were made here this season in comparison to last. Is it possible to check this somehow?

Double true. There was so much more to talk about in olden times: projecting the development of Al and Gerald, flipping out on Doc, arguing about tanking, arguing about who to draft, playing with the tradechecker endlessly.

Now? Nothing
I'm just sayin' is all...

Cosign what basically all Celt fans respondants have stated here, much more active last year and this offseason than during this season. Not as much up for debate or projections.

We've actually been one of the more popular boards on realgm, so I don't think it was just this season.

Especially once the "tanking" began last season, there was tons of activity on the board. Everyone wanted to assess who we should keep/move and who we should draft. I guarantee you last year's board was the most popular a 24-win team has ever produced.

Personally, I didn't post nearly as much the last couple seasons because as the old saying goes, when you don't have anything good to say... But just because Celtics fans weren't talking smack the last, well, 20 years doesn't mean we weren't in our living rooms or bars or the Garden cheering for Dino Radja and Dana Barros and Mr "Because There's No 4-Pointers". We were. You'd have to be a moron to abandon the most storied franchise in basketball knowing that when winning came back it would be amazing to be a C's fan. And it is.

Did you make this thread to call us out? Because you failed miserably.

Last year I know I had a lot more to say online(I used to post at celticsblog.net/.com), but wouldn't talk about the celtics with other people in person. Most of the time, they would be the one's bringing up the Celtics to harass me about their troubles. This year it's a lot different, because I can finally gloat about my team to others. So I think what you may be seeing is that Celtics fans in the past only wanted to talk to other celtics fans about the team, and now they are finally able to show their face in "public" again.

There really is a whole lot less to talk about when everything is going so well. I like this better though. :)

Dieheart fan here, just haven't felt the need to make an account until recently.

And yes, last year was more active with the oppurtunity for durant and oden as well as the variouls potential that we had on the team. Of course, some people took advantage of that like CelticsThug or w/e his name was.
