I think if any player in basketball should have a statue in front of an arena it is Bill Russell.

Best team player ever.

I couldn't agree with you more.
Not to mention it would be cool to take a picture next to.

I love that picture of Russell with his leg by his own head. No opponent wanted to try and rebound against him.

I couldn't find the actual picture only this one of an action figure.

Russell seems like the kind of guy who would not want a statue...he'd want his body of work to speak for itself (which it certainly does!)

Who knows? He seems to toot his own horn pretty often.

Well, I don't think they did things like, building a statue for basketball players when Russell was playing. Didn't Jordan start that too, as he did with everything else in the NBA, including that powder thing KG and Lebron do.

There should be a Bill Russell Wilt Chamberlain monument in front of the basketball hall of fame, of this moment:

That classic picture epitomized their two careers in a single image.

Yep, there's another one where he's even higher. If I find the photo I'll post it. Here's some other favorites of mine in the mean time.

No offense to Ted Williams, but he didn't win anything and got a statue. Its time to pay respect to the winningest winner ever. I think the park across the street from the Garden should be called "Russell Park" also.
