TA is coming round

Post#1 » by LongTimeFan » Wed Apr 23, 2008 6:25 pm

I'm starting to think TA is going to make it back. Maybe not all the way to taking a game over on defense. But close enough that we offer him a contract and he has a role as a defensive stopper.

The block a few games back was huge and vintage.

In the playoff game he did very well. Atlanta is not a very strong team, but I liked what I saw.

His mind has almost gotten over the fear. I think another contract will solidify his confidence.

In the bigger picture, players have got to admire the way we've stood behind him. It's not just money and business with the Celtics. It's like the players are part of the family. We've done right by Tony even though it was his bone head fault twice. This will pay us dividends the next time DA likes a college prospect. If it is possible, the way we've treated TA has enhanced our reputation.

This is just an observation, but this is probably the 11th or 12th thread i've seen labled "Tony's really coming around this time"

I feel like a real doosh for coming off like this, cuz I've backed Tony since day one, but I never know when he's gonna play like an Allstar, and when he's gonna play like me. I'm all for resigning him though. He can be one of the best on the ball defenders in the league.

I barely noticed anything he did in game 1. so it was good for him.

Nice off the ball play to get that O rebound. Don't recall him do anything good or poor defensively.

We had good Tony like 5 games this year.

Hopefully we'll have good Tony for the NBA Finals.

Is he ever going to get rid of the leg cast??? Or is that something he is going to wear for the rest of his career. I know its probably a mental thing and he doesn't need it, but it has to limit him some.

The brace will come off next year giving him a little more mobility. My son tore his ACL and had to wear a brace for a year to make sure the muscle got fully strong. The Doctor said that it is standard to wear it for a year after surgery.
