Article mentioning me (in the Globe)

Post#1 » by SeizeCoup » Thu Apr 24, 2008 4:08 pm

Page 9 of the sports section, article titled, "Fans give Bibby an earful".

Wagz and I went to the game last night. We sat in the seats behind the Hawks bench. Beforehand, while consuming pizza and heinekens, we took some oversized poster-board, a green marker, and we made ourselves a sign.

This was a first for both of us, the sign-making game.

Anyways, read the article, it's kinda cool. Too bad no pics though...

Calder, that is **** sick man. Nice work the both of you. I always wondered why your user name was CalderCup. What kind of name is Calder, Irish?

Edit: That Julian Benbow can't get anything right.

My parents were hippies. I'm (supposedly) named after Alexander Calder. (an artist known for mobiles)

But there's also a horse racetrack in Florida that shares my first name, and I know that my parents went there when they first started dating (info received via my grandmother)... so who really knows, could have been a mix of the two.

As an aside, yes I am Irish, also German, plus other Euro mixes.

Dorfon, were you at the game?

haha, thanks guys, just realized they spelled my name wrong in the article. LoL.

It was kinda cool when 20,000 people started chanting what our sign said/read.

I've had some good Celtics experiences since I've been living in Boston*. Hopefully all this fun is capped by a championship!

* Speaking of Celtics experiences, I still haven't posted a thread about my trip to Dallas. Overwhelming amount of pictures to organize. And it's been non-stop since I've been back. Soon though, I hope to share my experience here with y'all. In the meantime, here's a pic from the trip, it was taken at Nobu (a very fancy sushi spot) after the Celtics/Mavs game.

You mean that handsome guy wearing the Celtics jersey? Beats me.

If you look close you can see Vladimr (the team massage guy) in the background of the picture.

I was at game one. There are three of us splitting two tickets so we rotate. Someone's going to get screwed out of a series clinching game at some point. I'm hoping the C's sweep so I don't have to go to another Atlanta blowout.

I myself was raised by hippies and are of mostly Irish and German heritage. I guess that lineage pretty much damns you as a beer drinker. It tends to get pretty expensive at C's games.

You were prominently displayed on the TV last night. Well done.

When I saw the sign I immediately thought it was a great idea. Showing support for our guy and putting down that father hating creep at the same time. Excellent work.
They showed him over and over again on the bench talking into his towel like someone was going to read his lips..... idiot.

So many hippies' kids on here. Luckily I was raised by hippy haters who dig the music from that era but that's it. I hate hippies but I doubt any of you hard drinking hippies' kids are yourselves hippies, as the only sport hippies like are avoiding bathing and drugs!
