Doesn't look like it will be a Lakers vs Celtics Final

Post#1 » by return2glory » Tue Apr 29, 2008 6:20 pm

The Lakers just swept Denver. We are facing elimination to the Hawks. Doesn't look like there is going to be a Lakers vs Celtics Final after all.

In a way it's good. I just couldn't take losing to the Lakers. I just can;t stand the Lakers. It hurts to say that we aren't in the same league as them.

And I'm not just saying this now because we are losing. I said this right after the Lakers stole Pau Gasol from Memphis.

The main difference between the Lakers and us is that:

1. The Lakers have a superstar. A player who steps up every game and steps up in the 4th quarter. Kobe is a real MVP like Lebron, KG is a poser.

2. The Lakers have a very good coach. We have Doc. :noway:

3. The Lakers big 3 is better than ours. Gasol, Odom, and Kobe are just better.

This is really hard for me to say these things and may be harder for some Celtic fans to accept. I would have been bashed a few fews ago for saying this, but I don't know too many people that can disagree now.

It is too soon too talk about the draft? Because we can really use a beast like Joey Dorsey right about now.

It's over. Even if we somehow find a way to beat the Hawks, there is no way we will make it to the finals. 22 years and counting without a title.

This thread is a joke, and I am stupid for replying to it, but here goes.

You may have the slightest bit of legitimacy in you point if we were one game from being done. But no, we are now in a best of 3 with a sub .500 team and we have home court advantage.

To say KG is not a superstar is rather silly. You can say Kobe is better than KG but come on, by how much really?

Kobe is better than Pierce, but from games head to head through out their careers I've come to realize Kobe is not all that much better. Pierce can hang with him.

KG on the other had is a few steps above Gasol. And Ray Allen is a few steps above Odem.

The teams are really both just stacked and it is to close to call. They could play 100 best of seven series and each win 50 of them. It will all come down to whos shots fall, and who can keep momentum going and make the kill 4 times.

Talk about overreaction. We could sweep the rest of the playoffs now for all we know. The Red Sox were done this past season too or in 04 also for that matter right? Losing 2 games in a row doesn't mean much. It doesn't make me happy, but it doesn't mean they can't and wont play better.

This must have been the type of fan Mike Bibby was talking about. :nonono:

Two losses in the playoffs is very different than 2 losses in the regular season. Especially when we needed game 4 after getting beat down in game 3.

It was disappointing seeing how Pierce responded after getting punked by Horford at the end of game 3. Way to so some pride, PP. 5-14 shooting.

People here don't realize that coaching, strategy, and match ups are very important in the playoffs. If you realize that and realize Doc sucked in these areas, you'll understand why we are in trouble.

Na. I'm the type of fan that fan that goes to games in L.A. to see the Celtics with my Celtics gear. I'm the type of fan that talks **** to the Laker fans at the games when they talk **** about the Celtics. I'm the type of fan that breaks home furniture when the Celtics lose. I'm the type of fan that takes vactions during the draft to see who my Celts are going to get. I'm the type of fan to drives to Vegas to see the Cetlics in Summer League. I'm the type of fan that's only missed 2 games in the last 3 years. I've watched every quarter of those games, including preseason.

Don't ever question my passion for the Celtics.

What bothers me is the fact that the wizards beat the celtics 3 times a in a row. No reason why the hawks cannot do the same.

And the type of fan that jumps ship after a couple playoff losses.

I dont think we really "tried" the last two games and Rondo was out for one of them, plus they werent 3 in a row and there was no sense of urgency in the third one

They are close. That's my point. We've given a young, energetic Hawks team life. We failed to close it out. The Hawks team has the momentum and new found hope. The Hawks now believe they can beat us. If they win game 5, the series will be over in 6. It should have never come this.

Ya, ok. If you say so.

It call it as I see it. I said a few months ago when the Lakers got Gasol, that they are the team to beat. I also mentioned that the Celtics will never win a title with Doc as there coach. I also said that KG is not a superstar and doesn't bring it every game.

With that being said, I don't feel we are good enough to win a title. That doesn't mean I'm jumping ship or won't wait the games and pull for the Celtics.

How can we not? You're saying we're done and the series IS TIED. Granted, I know we've played like crap the past two games but....

IT'S A 7 GAME SERIES. How did you survive the past 20 years as a C's fan when we sucked?
