.....do you think Danny should fire Doc and hire one of these coaches?

I have nothing against Doc but he's clueless when it comes to playoffs.

Discuss.

D`Antoni is almost as terrible when it comes to X`s and O`s as Doc. And I couldn`t stand watching him whine on the sideline every game, even though he would be coaching my team.

I used to like Avery but he really disappointed me in the last two postseasons. He was completely outcoached last year against GS and I didn`t like how they played this season.

Doc needs to be fired that is a fact. We will never win a championship with him. He is useless in the playoffs. He managed to completely kill our rotation and role players` confidence in a matter of 2 weeks.

I wish Larry Brown was still available, never liked him that much but he is a professor for Rivers.

Danny needs to take over himself, he would do a much better job than Doc.

D'Antoni = Mike Martz of the NBA. Not interested.

And I don't see Avery Johnson getting fired, or resigning

Lets give Doc a chance here first. Danny trusts him, and Danny knows what he's doing. Besides Doc does have his strengths just as he certainly has his weaknesses.

Doc has had what, 5 years? He has already proven to be a playoff failure in Boston and even before Boston.

Should Ainge hire one of these coaches? Yes.

Will Ainge fire Doc? Nope. Not even if they lose in the first round.

I would like to have a NBA finals winner, as a coach. But no one will be available. So, If Ainge fires doc, I would rather see Tom Thib. promted

Doc is not getting fired and the Cs are not losing in this round or the next. They will make necessary adjustments and be fine. This is just a crash course in playoff basketball where anything can happen. Once they pass this test, they will be fine.

So why exactly should Ainge hire one of these coaches? Avery Johnson's teams just got bounced in the first round two straight years wtih teams that were some's pre- and in-season picks to go all the way. And D'Antoni's teams have never figured out how to play defense.

And D'Antoni and Johnson have won *so much* on their teams, too, huh?

I don't mean I want either of those guy, because I don't. I'm just saying Doc is a failure as a playoff coach, that's all.

I wouldn't want either.

Johnson is a control freak, and D'Antoni wears out his players before the post season.

Doc, D'antoni, and Johnson are all average coaches with great teams. There aren't many good coaches in the league, IMO.

If I were to make a list off the top of my head it'd be.

Popovich - Has done it with almost the same team year in year out.
Jackson - only put him lower than Pop because he has had some excellent players/teams the majority of his career. Jordan Bulls, Shaq Lakers, and now Kobe Lakers
Brown - Has the ring.
Sloan - Pretty consistent when given the talent.

D'Antoni is just as bad as Doc. Avery Johnson, I'd take in a heart beat, but I doubt Cuban's letting him go.

if they lose this or the next series, doc will be fired and replaced with Tommy Tibbs.

otherwise, docs resigned

Doc struggles with subs and adjustments sometimes. He is a bit stubborn. But, I like the tone Doc sets.

Larry Brown would be a disaster with a team like the celts. We got to find a fine line. Addelman would be great, maybe even a don nelson.

Doc is a manager. Sometimes, we need a tactician. IN the long haul, the manager is superior. But there are times that you want a guy who can x and o the game. That is what your assistants are there for.

I don't think either of these coaches is that much of an upgrade over Doc.

If Doc fails, which I'm am really really hoping he doesn't...Promote Thibs or bring in Danny.

I cannot believe how many people buy in to the 'Tom Thibodeau as Red Auerbach/Bill Belicheck/God' reincarnate theory. Seriously, he has to be the most ballwashed associate head coach in the league right? Like I've said before, people use this guy to avoid giving Doc any credit when they have no clue what goes on behind the scenes (I like to think the head coach generally deserves more credit than an assistant, but thats just me). I see so many people wanting to build a statute for this guy when the team plays good defense, but I didn't see anyone bashing Thibs when the defense that he supposedly is responsible for, got shredded by Joe Johnson in the 4th.

^^Like I said yesterday, everyone on here was all over Tom Thib's nuts about how great we were during the season and they gave Doc no credit. Now they are giving Doc all the blame and letting Thibs skate.

Can't have it both ways, ****!
