KG has to take it to the basket way more, he has basically a mismatch on every possession, it's frustrating to watch

KG Passing Up 5 footers

Post#2 » by NickHexum » Sat May 3, 2008 3:29 am

KG has to take the 5 to 10ft jumper when he has it in the fourth quarter! Four consecutive plays in a row where he either passed it out to the top of the key, and or dumps it off to someone else, all resulting in turnovers. KG, step up and take the critical shots down the stretch! Maybe this is why he's only got out of the 1st rd once before...

He's a punk and a loud mouth...

There is a reason he has only made it out of the first round once...

interesting...just listening to Tommy say "it's takes a guy a lot of courage to take the shots down the stretch in the 4th quarter"...for a guy like KG who's supposedly all about 'intensity', etc., get's some freakin' courage will you!!!!

He got his shot blocked twice in the game---then he wusses out!

Its been a problem with KG his whole career, he tries to make the game simple and play like he does during regular minutes of games. Thats why he has always needed clutch players, he simply is not a big finisher. Ive always thought because he is afraid to force shots, because it is much more physical down low and I think he feels he is forcing it. yOU have to live with the good and the bad.

Ive been saying it for 10 years that KG needs to take more force in key situatuions, but its just not in his forte. Beets me

KG doesn't like contact, that's why he doesn't like to play center or like to play inside, which is kind of understanding given his lean frame. He is not going to change now, so we'll have to live with it, I guess. I always thought PP was the closer for this team anyway.

Just get the ball to PP down the stretch and let him make plays. He is not afraid to try to get it done.

KG has never wanted to take the hero shots because he doesn't want to be blamed for losing. That's why Minnesota never went anywhere and when they did it was Cassell or Spree taking big shots.

KG and C Webb, similar mannerisms in crunch time.

KG's play has really bothered me this entire series. He's just so soft, and shrinks from the final shot. His defense has been great, but he could score 40 points a game if he would just take it to the hoop. The man is a mismatch every time.

He's gotta take those offensive rebounds right back up. He looked like Ben Wallace out there looking to immediately dish it off. Big boards but Ray but KG has the ability to take it right back up and score or at least get to the line.

KG has all the athleticism and ability to get himself to the line, but rarely does he use it.

As 7' 1" guys with great agility, leaping ability, reflexes, and basketball acumen go, KG isn't a particularly good scorer, at any point in the game.

At least, I think that's the case. There's a certain confidence problem given the small sample size ...

KG passing up those 5-10' late in fourth, was the single most frustrating part of the game. Pal wasn't in the game KG and Ray had to do it. They didn't. Most frustrating loss ever. It's up there with the superbowl.

KGs offensive play this series has driven me nuts. There is no one on that team that can stop him. He gets it down low only to pass it out for a 3. At time that is ok, but he needs to assert himself much more. For all that intensity and all things he constantly says, he sure is falling short of our expectations. How about boxing out as well. How many offensive rebounds is this team going to give up? The Hawks last night showed they want it more. They attacked. The Celtics retreated. KG should be a leader. Pierce should be a leader. They are not.

let's call it what is is. Unselfish is something positive. KG is playing scared. He is being a coward. Until he actually plays as "intense" as he pretends to be, he will always be a loser. Right now KG looks like he wants to go down in history with even less esteem than P-Ew. At least Ewing's Knicks got past the first round more than once. Right now KG is pathetic.

If Garnet doesn't start backing up all his talk he's going to become the biggest joke in the league. Wimp.

lol @ this thread...sure its true he needs to step up, but hell, so do PP & allen. KG's been the most consistent player the C's have had in the playoffs.

i dont care who steps up, but someone needs to more than theyve been doing. i blame most of it on doc. he needs to light a fire under the team. that was pathetic durin pregame the other night "I dont need to give u a pregame speech." looks like u do dumbazz. doc needs to run more plays for ray. it looks like we jus pass the ball around & everyone's afraid to shoot it.

pathetic. we dont deserve to make it out of the first round. hopefully next year, they'll be more hungry, but i've had a feeling all season that this is basically a one shot thing. i dont see how all players can stay healthy again for an entire season. i think this is it.
