It's not that I'm worried (I have complete confidence that we're going to blow them out like we did in the other home games) but I'm just mystified at how there's been such a disparity in our home and road games. If we look at just our home games, we've been playing like we should be playing. I think it just has to do with the Hawks players playing with confidence due to the crowd's support and energy; but still, in all the road games we've had at least a 10+ lead, and then the Hawks immediately go on a run to tie it up. I think this has to do with feeding off their crowd to get back into it, rather than having the Garden crowd overwhelm them.

Don't say obviously the celtics will win that is just ignorant. No one in the world though that this would go 7 games. What happened if they lay an egg like they did against the bobcats or sixers? The hawks have a real chance of winning this game.

Well, of course we should all relax. They have beaten the Hawks by 20+ in each of their home games, so obviously they have a huge advantage. Home crowd, home cooking and the Cs will take care of business, but it doesn't bode well for the next round. This team has shown a number of weaknesses, especially on the road. Perhaps this is a gut check. Perhaps this is who they really are. Perhaps the Hawks are much better than their record. The certainly are at home. They are horrible on the road. And I mean horrible. Of course anything can happen in a game 7, but the Cs have a monster advantage and if they lose, well, they just were not that good. If they win, they fought off a very formidable 1st round opponent that should not have been taken lightly by anyone. That is the biggest thing people are having a hard time wrapping their hands around. They thought the 37 win Hawks sucked and should just feel lucky to be in the playoffs. But, they proved everyone including me, you, the Celtics, the media wrong. Why can't we just accept it and move on and route for our team to win Sunday? Games are played for a reason. You all wanted playoff basketball. Well, you got it.

Appreciate that many of the extremists posts you're seeing now are from the extremist members of the board and/or those who have engaged in trash talking and are being made to look foolish at this time. In turn, they've subjected the more good natured posters on this board to animosity from fans of other teams. As for what's actually going on, on the court.....
- It's apparent to me that Atlanta is a tough match for the C's due mainly to their length and athleticism of Smith and Horford. KG may be able to mitigate one, but not both.
- Paul Pierce is picking up more energy in attacking with the ball and hitting the boards, but it's come at the expense of energy on the defensive end. He isn't moving his feet as well. My theory has always been that Paul isn't one of those endless energy type athletes, so when he exerts more in one area, another area will be sacraficed. But, it's more important to this team's success, IMO, that he continue attacking.
- As others have mentioned, KG is not a clutch scorer. Never was and shouldn't try to be now. Stick to what he does best. While he hasn't been terrible, I feel that he's losing some focus on boxing out and communicating the defensive switches as he's putting pressure on himself to take on more scoring on offense.
- Ray Allen is an All-Star and a great person. But beyond the historical "clutchness" of his shooting, he's not creating an all-star impact on this team. By this I mean, as Paul's defense has suffered a little, instead of the other wing picking up the slack, Allen is further exposed. As the team needs more high percentage scoring, Allen only provides better perimeter percentages, but not an increase in high percentage opportunities. James Posey at least picks up the defensive slack.
- Youth is being inconsistently served. Rondo has played exceptionally well and Leon Powe has provided a shot in the arm at times, but, Rondo has taken some really terrible shots too and Powe's been "dopey" on defense.
