? about approach to the game

Post#1 » by magee » Sat May 3, 2008 10:38 pm

Why aren't you guys making Mike Bibby win the game? It's obvious he can't handle Rondo when Rondo is guarding him. Just start Posey and bring Perkins off the bench when Pachulia comes in. I'm not sure about the logic to play at home rather than play on the road also. Is Doc Rivers really that bad?

My suggested line-up for Game 7:

Rondo-Bibby
Allen-Williams
Posey-Johnson
Pierce-Smith
Garnett-Horford

Bring Perk, Cassell, Powe and Tony Allen off the bench, in that order.

Why aren't a lot of things happening?

Tony Allen should be getting huge minutes in this series matching up against Joe Johnson. Sam Cassell shouldn't be getting any minutes. Eddie House should be backing up Rondo, getting 2-3 minutes at the end of the first, beginning of the second, end of second, beginning of third, end of third.

I'd rather we do what won us 66 games and have Jesus cover Williams and truth cover JJ. Williams isn't a potent offensive player so Ray doesn't have to work so much

^Isn't Doc Rivers the coach? The way I look at it, Allen isn't playing a lot because he can't hit a 3, thus not being able to keep the defense honest and open up the middle for Garnett and Pierce. The only excuse for Cassell playing over House is Cassell makes the Hawks work on the pick & roll. If House is open, he shoots it, thus negating any long possessions. Cassell usually shoots, but will wait an extra second or two to seewhat the defense does. House's D is vastly superior to Cassell's, but he couldn't D Childress up in the post like Cassell can.

thats what i been saying...for a "seasoned, clutch, playoff tested vet" Cassell sure has looked like a deer in headlights on the road games.

doc screwed up our rotation (which was the best in the L for the entire season) at the worse time. you dont fix something thats not broke, & thats exactly what doc did. no need to give sam & pj those kinds of minutes. house, TA, big baby & powe all got the job done admirably durin the regular season. he shoulda kept it the same. its too late now tho.

atlanta wins game 7. boston will once again freeze up in the 4th & doc will drop the ball again.

Bibby has been pulling that "veteran acting crap"....when Rondo gets near him,he initiates contact--then flops...it happened at least twice last night, leading to free throws.

Thank you!...I was saying this even after the first two wins....Doc killed the chemistry with this new rotation.

Tony Allen doesn't hit threes but he's the best wing defender on the team and he can get to the rim at will. Seems like such an obvious, easy substitution to make. He probably should have played more than Ray Allen in this series. Or at least gotten a significant chunk of Ray's minutes in the 3 losses.
