Johnson, on the other hand, isn't nearly as sold on the Celtics as his young teammate.

"I don't know if they're going to win it," he said. "[The media] has got them picked to win it. I had us picked to win it, but I guess I'm out of luck."

When asked if the Celtics are as good as everyone thinks, Johnson didn't retreat.

"No," he said. "They're probably not as good as everyone thought. We didn't show that here in Boston, but we showed it in Atlanta."

I dont care that Joe Johnson doesnt think we can do it, ebcause frankly this series even put doubts in my mind, but is he serious or do you think he was still upset? I love JJ and I ahte the fact that we traded him, but isn't the admirable thing to say "yeah we will see?" Or "they have a shot" or when in doubt "no comment."
Hortford was asked the same question and here is his response
Rookie center Al Horford saw enough of Garnett, Kendrick Perkins, Leon Powe and Glen Davis to know that there's plenty of ammunition to get it done.

"We really gave them all they could handle," he said. "But I do feel like they can get it done. They certainly have a good enough team to do it."

If we can play on the road like we do at home for just ONE game a series, we will win every series. If we do that, then that means a team would have to beat us twice at the Garden, which I just cannot ever see happening.

I am so surprised the last few games to hear JJ talking all the smack and Horford to be the voice of reason. It's in direct contrast to their on-court conduct.

Sounds bitter to me. The guy was very upset after the loss, so much so that he called out his teammates.

If he did, it was VERY veiled (and I see it, but still...)

He's right -- maybe not the right person to make the statement -- but countless of others who thought the Celtics could easily make the Finals after their regular season now have to seriously reconsider.

Especially with Doc's limitations in the playoffs.

Is he telling me that his own team is not that good?

I'm so sick of hearing this argument, too. If the C's sweep Cleveland and Detroit, then will people believe again?

Absolutely.

Forget Cleveland and Detroit -- simply sweep the Cavs and I will be a full believer in Doc Rivers and Boston's title chances.

What about beating the Cavs in 5 or 6? They are a much better team than the Hawks, after all. That should count for something, too, right?

What JJ doesn't get is that we won 66 games mostly without physically dominating our opponents. What we did was to execute with pinpoint precision, particularly on the defensive end. This is kind of like the Pats. A lot of guys say the same things about losing to the Pats, oh they aren't so impressive bla bla, but when you look at the scoreboard they're usually up.

The Celtics dominated the series overall. They just lost a couple close games. These things happen in small samples. Over a much larger sample if the Celtics and Hawks played like 100 straight games, the Celtics would win about 70-80 of them.
