My favorite Doc Rivers moment EVER!

Post#1 » by Tricky Ricky » Wed May 7, 2008 12:11 pm

My favorite Doc Rivers moment ever was last night I believe in the 4th when we only had 1 second left on the shot clock and Doc took a time out. Figuring he would call a play designed to take 1 second the Celtics come out of the time out pass it to KG who catches it lands then looks for a shot but what happens? A whistle blows and they show Doc on the big screen soooooooooooooo confused lol funniest moment ever there was no way he knew there was only 1 second left lol.

Go ahead share your favorite Doc moments

i think there was some bad time keeping there. kg caught the ball and instantly a 24 second violation was called. if derek fischer can catch the ball bounce it and then drain a shot in .3 seconds then KG should have been able to do something more then just catch the ball.

Gee, a card-carrying Doc-hater misrepresenting the situation...

I would bet good money over bad that Doc looked confused because the players didn't do what he told them to, similar to game 6 in Atlanta!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I've always thought that Derek Fisher shot was league-help, the same way the 20+ FTs the Lakers got in the 3rd quarter of Game 6 against Sacramento in 2002 was...

I remember Doc after that play saying that he hadn't touched the ball so I think he realized what happened and I agreed. I dont see any way that that was actually 1 whole second. They must have started the clock before he touched it or something.

Please dont bring that up again, I actually felt bad for Spurs fans after this. I think most people forget TDs off balance shot right before this

You know I dislike the guy as much as anyone, but that is clearly not what happened. He was complaining about the fact that the clock started too early or they didn't let it go long enough. Its not that he didnt know (he clearly did know), its that he felt the refs screwed up the clock.

Now, do I have an issue with the play he called, YES!

I doubt the play he called was for KG to get the ball 20 feet away with his back to the basket. Credit the Cavs with good D. Even if KG catches it he's got nuthin. The trouble is the Cavs are bigger than us so we can't just lob it in, and Ray and Paul seem to have trouble separating from the D the whole night.

I think what happened is that there was really only like 0.2 secs left on the shotclock but it just read 1 because there are no decimals. I didn't think it was a big issue because the chance of scoring with <1s on the clock are pretty damn slim.

My favorite moment was when the team one game one of the east semis and some moron decided to start a thread about something he knows nothing about. Good times.

Ouch. Hit me where it hurts with my spelling. Doesn't change the fact that you know nothing about the game and just like to piss and moan because Doc didn't give you an autograph a few years back. If you're going to start a thread on an out of bounds play that had less than a second on the shot clock, it's not Doc that's pathetic, it's your life.

Actually Doc gave me a couple autographs and never denied me

Im starting the thread because I hate Doc and this was by far the funniest thing Ive ever seen him do, whether he didnt know there was 1 second or the play he called was bad I found it hilarious.

Now if it was Cle's D I still can find his facial expression so u stop acting pathetic sucking docs u know what and go get yourself a life. Thank you!

Yea Doc was justified when you consider that as soon as KG touched the ball the shot clock expired (we get screwed by the time keepers even when we're at home)

The spelling may have been wrong (fixed) but the sentiment and who it was directed at was spot on.

Seemed like the whistle blew as soon as KG touched (note that I didn't say caught) the ball.

Seemed like a lot less than a full second.
