why did cassell take 12 shots?

i understand that he's supposed to be this scorer off the bench but there's no reason he should have the second most shots on the team. especially when 75% of them are brick.s
i love you cassell but why isn't anyone telling him to slow down?
as far as i know, cassell isn't a pure shooter like allen and house that just needs to keep shooting until it goes in so what the hell is he doing?
