Game 2 Victory Cigar

Post#1 » by Spin Move » Fri May 9, 2008 4:41 am

A real team effort here Powe was huge, pierce scored, garnett rebounded, Sam was pretty big. I give it to pierce with powe and garnett not far behind. Pierce has to get some credit for Lebrons poor shooting he had some nice defenisve plays and some big boards.

My vote is for Posey even if his name isn't on your list.

One of the toughest cigars to pick all year. That's a good thing. You can make a good case for like 6 guys.

Really tough call, as others have said. I went with Sam. The box score won't show it (because he sucked in garbage time, but who cares about that?), but I thought he really had a great game and was the player that changed the game most for us.

Rondo was struggling early, as were the Celtics, and then Sam came in and really played well. He shot the ball well, made 3-4 very good passes in the 1st half and was the biggest reason the bench brought us back into the game after a sluggish start by the starters, IMO.

Lebron for shooting 19% the first 2 games...

Honorable mention to Wallace for passing out rather than trying to defend KG.

My vote goes to Posey too. A mod needs to add him to the poll if that is possible!

Great job by the second unit, everybody contributed! Hopefully we can keep this up in CLE! Nice win!!!

I added Posey for you guys. This is a tough one. I think Ray also really helped put this one away in the 3rd. The victory cigar really should go to their defense. It is swarming. With that, I'll go with KG. He dominated the interior and provided offense when needed.

I'm voting for Posey, I thought he sparked the turn around in the second quarter as much as anyone.

I voted Posey. Tough call as all were deserving but Posey's D on LeBron has been a thing of beauty to watch...he hit some good, big shots, his hustle on loose balls, steals.

Posey gets it!
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

I voted for Pierce for the 0 tos as much as the scoring, but how does Ray not even get a nomination for the bounce back game? His play at the start of the second half was just "you can turn lights off now and everyone drive safely."

Hmm, I thought Powe and Sam were the Top 2 here.. Posey did well on D and on taking that tough long-2; but Powe's hustle and Sam's instant offense was what kept us fighting through that pivotal 1st half were both teams were trying to get the momentum and the upper hand (remember, we were down bad in the early going)

Because, the war for momentum happened 1st half... Ray more or less just sealed the deal as part of that 3rd quarter run

Close call but Posey is Definately in Lebrons head. What a GREAT pickup for this team.
Does everything needed, need a scorer hell hit a long two with 4 seconds left on the shotclock, or nail a three in transistion.
Need a defender, hell shut down the best scorer in the league and force him to take jumpers.
Not to mention you never see him talk **** to anyone. Just goes about his business.
