Nothing else seems to be working. All we need is one slip up at home and we are done for the summer if we keep this pattern of play up.

A home loss would put the Celtics one game away from a long fishing excursion. I rather Doc finds a different way to wake this team up.

This team doesn't need a kick in the ass. It needs to start kicking ass itself. It would be nice to see the rotations they were using when they won 66 games.

The fans need to wake up. It isn't about awaking about for the players. They just aren't that good. A home lose would mean the season is over for us. There is no way this team will win a road playoff game.

How can a team have a great D and a very good offense not be that good? They won by an average of 10ppg scoring margin. They are good and they aren't showing it. Do you really think it's something that CLE is doing BOS to make them play this way? I don't. I think BOS is not playing at the heightened level they are supposed to.

Wow, have things really gotten this bad where we are actually suggesting we lose a game at home? You work hard all year to get in the position they are in. Man the thought process of people really amazes me.

I'm not suggesting they lose any games. I just don't see any change or improvement in their road games after five games. And eventually we might slip at home so we can not rely on winning every game there.
Something needs to change, and soon.

Or they just need to keep winning their home games. Of course we want the Cs to win 4-0 every series, but that is not reality. The reality is the Celtics have home court advantage. The Celtics don't have to win on the road. Some other team HAS to win in Boston, and so far with the exception of game one (Cleveland), no team has been close. That is reality.

What is problematic about losing now is that it won't cost Doc Rivers his job. He got into the second round. The only way it was going to be impossible for Ainge to stick with Doc was if he lost to the Hawks.
But Doc eeked out his first playoff series win, in 7 games, and has "earned" the right to come back next year -- no matter how much he blows this series.

To be fair -- a team will win in Boston. If not Cleveland, then Detroit -- who has already beaten the Celtics at home and a team that will have about a week off before they play in Boston (if the Celtics get to the ECF).
There's a reason why an NBA Championship has never been won by only winning your home games. This means you're going to extend each series to the highest number of games and waste old legs finishing off inferior competition.
The irony with "someone has to beat Boston at home" to deny us the championship, under that scenario all it really takes is
one home loss for the Celtic title hopes to evaporate.

My point is they are connected. If nobody beats them at home, which is unlikely but it could happen, they don't need to win on the road. But, if someone does beat them, they need to win on the road. Nobody has beaten them at home yet, so they don't technically need to do anything but hold serve. Of course a road win would certainly lower a lot of fan's blood pressure right now.

One thing a lot of people don't remember is that a Celtics team in the 60s (might have been 1964-65) won the title with only winning *1* road game. So it can be done. Is it the right way to do it? No...but it's possible.
That being said, I am pretty demoralized after last night...that's a game we absolutely should have won. Cleveland looked like **** after halftime, but we squandered opportunities left and right. This one's on the players, plain and simple.
