Posey and Pierce on Lebron and Wally sounds like a better matchup for us. Ray Allen is getting muscled around and sometimes loses his man.

We have to do what's best for the team. I don't care how many all star appearances Ray has. Posey has played much better defense in this series. Plus Pierce would abuse both Pavlovic and Wally.

I wouldn't start Posey, but I would go to him early and take out Ray, giving Posey some of Ray's minutes.

Ray has been giving us more than Pierce has, offensively. Paul is pissing me off, which is sad as he's one of my favorite Celtics. But he's been atrocious.

I agree with this. It is a tough call because when Ray gets going, he has a hot hand from beyond the arch.

Why not? It's an adjustment that will either force Ben Wallace or Z away from the basket to guard Posey on the perimeter or make Mike Brown adjust and give more time to Varaejo or Joe Smith.

But we don't believe in adjustments -- well, besides cutting Tony Allen and Eddie House out of the rotation so Cassell can play 24 minutes per game.

This is the one thing that is absolutely killing us and responsible for our ills. Even when Sam's shots are falling, he completely ruins the flow of the offense.

Exactly! I don't mind anyone's missing shots, if they come from within the offense because no one can make every shot. It's the way in which Cassell's shots are coming.

So if the Cavs want to slow the game down and we want to speed it up, why would we bring Cassell in when all his playing style is to slow the game down? Doc needs to be fired immediately and Cassell needs to be deactivated. We have a better chance at winning anything without them than we do with them.

Agreed. When Sam jacked up a three and multiple fadeaways with two or three guys in his face, I knew we were going to lose. And on two other horrific shots he got bailed out by getting fouls called so he could shoot FTs. The numbers fool a lot of people, but in general he is killing this team 's rhythm on offense. Coupled with his non-existent D and you have a recipe for disaster.

I wish Danny and Doc could just admit bringing Sam in was a failed experiment and just end it now instead of riding him into potential elimination just to save face...

They both have been lousy offensively, but I think Paul has played much better defense. The thing about Paul's offense that really bothers me is he doesn't go in enough. Every other possession he's launching an unneeded 3 point attempts. I love him one second and hate him the next.

There is no reason to start Posey over Allen, and you can shout and scream it all you want, but it'll never happen. He makes a solid impact off the bench, and that's the way it's going to stay.

Only thing I would like to see is Doc Rivers get Eddie House out there.

I was going to post a thread about this very thing. Wally should not be scoring this well anymore, he doesn't do it to anyone else, it's a flaw in Ray.

Posey's been a better 3 pt shooter than Ray anyway, and it'll give Pierce a reprieve from guarding LeBron so he'll have more energy on offense which is just what he needs.

Even if it hurts Ray's ego, maybe it'll give him a chip on his shoulder. Who knows? He can't do play any worse.

Start Posey and bench Perk. Start off with energy and out best defender already on Lebron. A hot start could mean everything.

The suggestion to come off the bench would have to come from Ray in order for Doc to even think about considering it.

My point is Doc wouldn't think about it unless Ray would offer to come off the bench. Doc is being described by his players as a player's coach, and as a former player himself I think he would hesitate benching a star with Ray's reputation. I don't see Doc as someone like Popovich who would get in his stars' faces just like he would his scrubs.

It's really up to Doc.

Yeah that's probably true, but it's time to be a total coach now.

ray would be a nice spark off the bench. posey will be a nice starter so that we would be able to jump on the cavs early.

3 things:

1. Wally is shooting 40 percent for the series and averaging less than 13 points-he's a career 17ppg guy on 48 percent shooting-get over it with the Allen's defense thing-Wally was one of the top 6th men in the league up until he left Seattle, averaging 13ppg in 26 mpg...he's playing below his ability efficiency-wise, but producing up to his ability...

2. The Cavs are scoring below 90 ppg on less than 43 percent shooting...they're not going bananas....LeBron has been contained and Wally/West and the rest of the backcourt rotation has been minimal...the only super efficient players have been the frontcourt role players-and only over the last two games...

3. YOU FIND ME ONE TEAM THAT HAS CHANGED ITS STARTING LINEUP IN THE PLAYOFFS AND WON THE TITLE...do that and i'll entertain the idea that switching a HoF player for a role player is a good idea because one plays better defense than the other...It doesn't happen...you stick with what worked for 66 wins and you make your strategy adjustments with the rotation that got you there...you don't make desperate moves, they disrupt chemistry and hurt you in the long run-look at Dallas last year for proof of that.

Can you imagine how this would disrupt the locker room if this happened? despite all this "we are in it as a team" BS he would definately not like this ..
