Ok, he makes dumb decisions with the ball, but the guy got the whole package to succeed in the NBA, plus he's a big time dunker, thing that we miss (beside TA)... Maybe he should be helped improoving from KG(work ethic) and Ray(BB IQ)...
What do you think about it?

No. We don't need Gerald Green on this team. We have Baby, Powe and Rondo. Why bring GG who can't play defense ? 0 BBIQ, can shoot that's about all.

It's not better to have Green on the bench than House next year? Maybe his defese can improove, I remember PP being selfish and not a defender too...

We need players that will actually win games for us. I'd much rather sign someone like Josh Childress.

You bet that Gerald Green will be a player. The problem is, it won't be with the Celtics. Houston likes what they see in Green and will re-sign him in the off season, and Gerald will grow behind McGrady there. If he had to choose between us and them, he signs with one of his home state teams.

Obviously we need players who help us to win, but I don't want to pe ovestocked with 30-34yo players, I think that 6 out of 15 spots for young players is not that bad, you can easily win in 9 in the PO... Obviously if he comes here for less than 1.2 millions, otherwise we can choose another one...

I remember complaining about gerald being traded (of course, I didn't care, we got kg, ya know) and saying that he will be good in Minnesota. Boy was I wrong!

I was just thinking about this the other day. I'd say treat it like Brandon Wallace last summer. If Danny thinks he can turn the corner in his career with guys like Ray and KG on the team, then bring him in for the summer league, sign him to an non-guaranteed deal, then see if there's a roster spot only. If there is a spot open, then keep him. If we could use that roster spot at any point for a player of need, then cut him.
While he doesn't fill any immediate need for us, he could possibly fill our need for youth. If he can get his head straight, at the very least he could potentially be a solid sixth man down the road.
Quick note: Personally, I don't think Gerald will ever turn the corner on his career and become a competent player, so I wouldn't bring him in, but if Danny thinks he can, then bring him in. I'd rather target a young guy like Patrick O'Bryant who's been sent off in Golden State and could flourish in a fresh start.

GG is a terrible player!
He just doesn`t understand the game of basketball. He will get another chance next year on some team but in 2 year he will be out of the league.
He is just not smart enough for the game. He can do two things. Shoot and dunk. The problem is that he is absolutely terrible at everything else. You can`t even put him in the game as a catch and shot 3 point shooter because he can`t remember the plays and looks completely lost on both ends of the floor!

I would rather have Louis Williams of the 76ers as a backup. I believe he is a resticted free agent.

I agree it's always nice to get an infusion of young talent, but we need ones that can actually PLAY and UNDERSTAND the game. Not Green.

Well, we have no chance to get Childress, unless we move Rondo, I guess. So it is as valid as saying I'd much rather have Oden or Roy. Green, if he's cheap, willing to work hard and ready to play as a end of bench guy for most of games would be an easy to take gamble. He might develop in a good player or he might not. Not much risk there. We have 3 spots to fill anyway, probably more. I want no part od Cassell and PJ next season, they're just not worth it, House will probably leave the way things turned out. I hope Posey and Allen stay. 1 pick, 1 or 2 with MLE, a spot for Green and I'm a happy camper.

Oh man, he's a pretty good player! He'd fit in pretty nicely as a backup, because he seems like a guy that doesn't try to play outside of his abilities and doesn't make boneheaded plays (that I've seen, at least).

Or Chris Duhon. In either case, Cassell isn't going to be here.
