Why Is Everyone Giving Posey a Free Pass?

Paul Pierce is a better defender than James Posey? Seems to be the case in the playoffs so far. PP has done a better job on both Joe Johnson and Lebron James.
In fact, Lebron gets going when Posey comes out to gaurd him... and is pretty much neutralized when Pierce is on the floor.
Not to mention that Posey really hasnt hit an open shot in over a week it seems...

Posey was GREAT in games 1-2 and good in game 3, but he's really been awful since then. His D has been incredibly soft and he's just showed LeBron the way to the hoop and he's missed open jumper after open jumper.
I'm with you: Posey has gotten a bit of a free pass. I've seen several call for more time for him, but he sure isn't earning it with his recent play.

He's been fine but when LeBron wants to get to the rim no one is gonna stop him, not Pierce, not Posey, not anyone

In the last two games, he's made one TERRIBLE turnover in each. Horrifically lazy passes. The in the 5th game was with 2 minutes to go or something.
Who else is on the floor for the Cavs when Posey is guarding LBJ? Is their rotation one that calls for James to be more personally active at those times?

Posey gets a pass because generally he has been pretty good in the playoffs. Ray Allen OTOH..

No Posey was the better defender in the ATL series.
The only reason Pierce is doing better then LeBron is because Pierce has the mass to put up a quarrel with LeBron's strength.
Also Posey blew it out of the water with his clutch shooting in the earlier series looking like Ray Allen on a good night. Now he's returned to what he is. A good to great defender with 3 point range.
He's done exactly what we could of hoped for and that's why no one is calling him out. It isn't like he won a huge following or something being the oft forgoten 6th man during the regular season where there seemed to be times he'd play 5 minutes.
