what if we lose a home game to Detroit?

But on a happy note, were going to the conference finals for the first time in a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's not what if, it's when we lose to Detroit at home.

IMO, we have a 20% chance for less for winning this series. The reasons I feel this way is because:

1. We are winless on the road in the playoffs.
2. Ray Allen is getting worse and worse as the playoffs go on.
3. Detroit is a better team.
4. Detroit is more rested.
5. Detroit knows how to win champiosnhips.
6. Detroit has the experience because they have played longer together.
7. We struggled against weaker teams (Hawks, Cavs), so what makes us think we will beat a better team.

IMO, we are clearly the under dogs going into the series. It will take an almost miracle to win this series.

For now, I'm just enjoying the win. I'm thankful we are going to the Eastern conference finals.

You guys are so unbelievably negative! Come on...we just won a very intense playoff series, and you are already predicting our demise. Enjoy the moment for a little bit and then realize that we beat Detroit 2-1 during the regular season, and came within inches of sweeping them. There's no reason to be setting us up as underdogs in this series when we have home-court advantage. We don't need a miracle to win, all we need is to do he same things that we've done all season long.

Yup

As well as the Celtics have played at home, Detroit is the more rested and experienced team. I almost expect them to steal one of the first two, with game 1 the more likely loss. At that point, the Celtics will man up and show the rest of the East how they won 66 games and finally win a road game (or two!). Should be another barnburner and I can't wait!

Doom and gloom. But then again, you didn't like our chances today either...so who knows.

Please don't put words in my mouth. I felt we would win today but it wouldn't be easy.

I felt that it would come down to the home crowd. I stated that for us to win today, our fans had to become our 6th man again. Our fans were great today. Pierce was even greater.

I know how you feel. My whole family was going nuts. My dad was running around the house screaming and swearing. My mom was praying for us.lol. I was a nervous wreck at work. And to completley honest, I also know how you feel about the Detroit series. I could see us losing that one aswell. Hopefulley will be suprised... :pray:

I don't think anyone here is like that. I personally feel that we have a small chance of winning the championship this year because of how we are playing lately. I personally would rather be 100% wrong about my predictions, as long as we win. Winning a championship is more important than calling a lose. I'm sure there isn't anyone here that feels any different.

I'm fairly worried, but I disagree with Detroit being the better team, and Detroit also has a history of imploding to go along with their championship experience. So I wouldn't put the odds that low. But unless we turn around and play decent on the road, and probably unless Ray Allen turns things around, we won't win.

Lack of belief does not make you less of a fan. I don't think there is anyone here that taught last year's team had a chance of winning it all. We were one of the worst teams in the league. I loved that team just as much as this one.

The good thing about Detroit -- we face a team where the coaching advantage could be a wash.

The bad thing about Detroit -- their core has been together for years and they've had an entire week to rest.

The Celtics will have to win on the road as they will likely drop one of the first two games.

Sure Detroit is on a roll....but I think we played a much better opponent than the Pistons did----Cleveland is better than Orlando and would have taken Detroit to 7 games I believe....Let's just hope that Doc has learned from this series and will NOW use his bench properly....Heaven knows Ray Allen needs some rest--as well as KG.
