Celtics win by 10. They will come out with more energy, Detroit is going to be rusty. This might be easier matchup wise because we wont have to focus all our D on one player which really took away from the great man on man D most of our guys play.
My Starting 5:

PG: Allen Iverson
SG: Paul Pierce
SF: Kevin Durant
PF: Kevin Garnett
C: Patrick Ewing

i have a good feeling for us against the pistons coz we are actually better at stopping team-oriented offense. plus their bigs are the same size as our bigs compared to the tall bigmen of the cavs.

let's go C's and head to the finals.

LETS GO CELTICS.
It's gonna be a duel and a half though.
Billups might abuse Rondo a little.

KG should have a great series.

I hope Detroit comes out rusty. Billups also hasn't played for almost two weeks. Big Baby will probably play more than Powe, and if Hunter doesn't play, I expect Cassell to have another DNP-CD.

Is the victory cigar your board's equivalent of player of the game?
I hope Pierce got it for the game this afternoon.

Yep. And of course he did.

In terms of this series, I think it goes one of two ways:

1. Boston in 7
2. Detroit in 6

It's really all about whether Detroit can take one of the first two road games in Boston. If they do, I think they'll probably win the series. If Boston holds serve in both the first two games, then I think it goes the distance and the C's pull it out at the very end.

But regardless, anyone who thinks this series will be easier is kidding themselves. I want the C's to win really bad, but honestly if I had to bet a huge amount of money, I think I'd pick the Pistons scenario. I just don't know how long this team can go on winning all its home games. Eventually they're gonna stumble. Had game 1 of the Cleveland series been against Detroit, the C's would have lost. The Pistons are the kind of team that takes advantage of every lapse and mistake.

Anyway, that's the analytical side of me talking.

The emotional side says "Keltics drink piss-tons blood!"

a series that BBD and Leon will contribute as their bigs are undersized...our depth in the post will wear them down, and I don't think that the home court will mean as much in this series

prediction, each team will steal one game on the road, though we win it in 6

After seeing how much effort it took to beat the Hawks especially Cleveland both series going to game 7 I think we really will be out of GAS vs the Detroit. See, Detroit could and possibly beat us at home. We cannot go to game 7 vs them. This means we have to WIN on the road and beat them on their own soil. Until this happens we will not reach the finals.

For some weird stupid reason I think we do match up vs the Pistons than we did vs Cleveland. And Pistons don't have a guy named LeBron James.

Detroit can easily be beaten but the series vs the Hawks and Cavs shouldn't have reached games 7 to decide.

I hope this at least ends 4-2 for the C's.

Victory! Wouldn't be surprised if it goes 7, but I'm hoping it's Celtics in 6. Either way, the Pistons scare me a hell of a lot more than the Cavs, but I think the Cs will be ready.

Drive Rondo drive! Test Billup's hamstring. Use the speed relentlessly and make Chauncey work on defense. See if he's healthy.

Stick a bigger guy on Billups late in the game. He doesn't do so well against taller defenders.

The Celtics have been battling themselves all postseason. The offense is starting to come alive (finally).

If the Celtics play their top ball, they will win.

Other things: Look for a Powe/Baby revival. Ilgauskas bothered them with his height.

Maybe there will be a Tony Allen sighting.

Ray Allen was smothered against Cleveland. He's got to break out of it against Detroit.

The shifting liineups have been good in one way: Beyond the starters, the Celtics have some fresh legs (Eddie House!). They'll need those guys to do well as the Pistons are well-rested.

Don't be surprised by a home loss and an away win in this series. With the offense alive again, what happened against the Hawks and Cavs does not apply. It's a clean slate.

Is tgei back from his injury yet? We struggled against the Cavs without him.

The series doesn't even start until game 3 in DET. Say DET steals one in BOS. The series is 1 to 1. BOS has to win in DET then. I know they can do it but, will they?

^This. Detroit will do the same thing they did against Philly, which is relax based on their "experience" and will lose. Thing is, the C's are MUCH better than Philly...
