That sequence they write about on the first page is amazing. It's one of my most vivid basketball memories, although I'll confess to having had some of the details wrong.

Not as vivid as DJ's layup in Game 5, however. :)

And I hadn't recalled that Parish's punchout of Laimbeer, the Dantley collision, and the Bird steal were all in the same game.

Makes you remember what a classless loser Isiah Thomas was with his remarks about Bird and how they had no chance of beating the Lakers. It's funny how a 23 year old like LeBron is more mature than a veteran like Thomas was in giving the Celtics praise, even after a tough game 7 defeat. And judging by Thomas' actions even to this day in his mid-40's, he's still just an immature pathetic excuse for a human being.

^^ I'm not saying the statement was wrong, right now, in no way am I fan of Isiah Thomas but back then come on, that was trash talking and thats what a lot of players it's just magnified on him because he was a "star".

Actually, that quote is almost the only thing Thomas has ever gotten a bad rap for in his whole life. Rodman was the idiot. Thomas more or less sarcastically agreed with him to back up his teammate. The article has it a little wrong.

The Dantley collision wasn't in that game, that was in game 7.

That is correct, I have the Celtics dynasty dvd and have watched game 5 several times. No collision between Dantley and Vinnie Johnson. That was game seven.
