Good!!!

Post#1 » by heyjohnny » Tue May 20, 2008 3:18 am

San Antonio will play the Lakers in the WCF. I hate both of those teams equally as much. If the Celtics are lucky enough to get past Detroit, they would then guarantee the NBA HEADquarters a dream storyline.
Relive the Laker rivalry of old, Pierce vs. Bryant being the marquee match up. And of course Ray Allen and Kobe hate each other already.
But my favorite scenario is the SPURS. Time for the CELTICS to reverse the curse of Tim Duncan! Send that BASTARD into retirement... :lift:

The thing is down to the usual suspects (teams that have won championships after the last Chicago win, minus Miami) and the Celtics. Coincidence?

Ahhh, I hate the Spurs. I'd rather not play them, but it would be nice to send Timmy packing...First things first, we have to squeak by Detroit.

I too hate the Spurs and Lakers and I was really pulling for the Hornets to win, I hate Byron Scott but I like their team. If the Hornets then beat the Lakers, they were the only team that I would have been alright with winning the title if it wasn't us.

The city needs it, Chris Paul and David West are great guys. If the Pistons, Spurs or Lakers end up winning it I will not be happy.

I'm amazed at the idiocy of the Hornets in that game 7. Peja taking a 25 foot three pointer with 10 seconds left on the shot clock when they were only down like 8 with 4 or 5 minutes to go? Pargo trying to take the game over like he was freaking Kobe Bryant?

the only thing SA offers that remotely interest me over a more classic LA match up would be handing SA, Duncun and Pap there first NBA finals loss.

Too bad we couldnt be the ones to do that to Kobe.

The Spurs are dull. I hope the Lakers win.

I could see myself watching a grand total of about zero minutes of a Spurs Pistons final.

When it came down to it, the West really only had 2 contenders.

The best 4 teams in the NBA duking it out. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Good? Maybe. But IMO the Hornets would have been an easy matchup for us in the finals. Spurs would be the toughest (and are the most likely opponents) IMO and Lakers would be tougher than the Hornets

I don't think the Hornets stood a chance in Hell getting past LA. Whereas the SPURS have a great chance of beating LA. Regardless, we have to get past Detroit. LA and SA will be fun to watch.

It's tough. I hate the spurs because they owned us for about a decade. Us beating them would signify the changing of the guard. Then again I hate that smug SOB Phil Jackson. Either way a title would be nice.

LA is the old school rivalry while San Antone is all about KG getting Timmy revenge.

aside from our Celts, the spurs are my fav team out west. but thats prolly due to them being in the same conf as the fakers whom i despise. i dont really see much to hate/not like in the spurs. TD is the best pf in the game just puts his head down, goes out and play and doesnt yap. manu is a baller and very clutch, tons of international play and i just love his game. i have no comment for little frenchie. kurt thomas is a great pickup for them like PJ was/is for us. so yeah i want SA to win, b/c of 2 reasons and 2 other folks have already mentioned it:

1. To be the best, you have to beat the King, which is SA (defending champs); unfortunately i dont get extra satisfaction b/c we didnt land TD in 97, etc.

2. i dont ever want fakers to even sniff close to #16. no way, hopefully not in my lifetime.

that being said, this detroit series is gonna be tough. i just hope our boys compete hard, have fun and move on...

I could care less who the Celtics play. Because if they are playing anyone, that means they beat Detroit and are in the finals. That being said, the Lakers would be a more fun series, but then again, the media attention would be sooooooooooooooooo overblown, I wouldn't be able to watch or read much of the same old stories.

Similar to how I felt during the recent Giants-Angels World Series in 2002, any of the Spurs Finals the past 6 5 years, etc
It's still 17 to 11!!!!

Return to Boston Celtics
