5/20 Victory Cigar - Game 1 goes to the Green

Post#1 » by sully00 » Wed May 21, 2008 3:25 am

I loved just about everything about this game. KG and Pierce were their All Star selves, Perk and Rondo were as good as you could hope for. Ray is showing signs the jumper isn't there but he is showing signs. Powe showed up and PJ is up speed.

KG can say whatever he wants Sheed can't guard him.

I flipped a coin and went with KG. I just love how he knows he owns Sheed and just took it to him. Without the big bodies he is also able to just rule the defensive paint and glass. I would love 3 more like this one.

Garnett absolutely abused 'Sheed tonight. Pierce was excellent as well and Rondo outplayed Billups and both are pretty deserving, but it's KG for me.

Rondo was the difference maker tonight. He completely erased the Pistons' brain from the court. Not only that: he also had a crazy five steals (the Pistons rarely turn the ball over), a couple of superb clutch shots (one three pointer!), a 7-1 turnover ratio, and shot over 50% from the field. He was a pest on defense and a catalyst on offense.

Pierce. If he wasn't making baskets, he was creating them for his team mates, Kevin Garnett included. He attacked the rim and got great results.

if there was a way to vote for both i'd split my vote, instead i vote for pierce to counter the vote that went to KG via coinflip, both played like superstars tonight

Not so easy as it has been.

I am going with KG. But it was a tough decision. between him and pierce.

You could pick any one of those four tonight. It's a tough call but I'm gonna go with Rondo, he really set the tempo tonight. He made some HUGE shots, had seven assists with only one turnover, but most importantly he had FIVE STEALS and shut down Chauncey.

Pierce is a close second, KG a very close third and Perk a not too distant fourth. I wish we could give a cigar to all of these guys.

Oh, and Doc coached a really good game. I don't think he made a single questionable decision tonight.

It starts and ends with the Captain. KG was great, but Pierce was dominant. Much of what he did won't show up in the box score.

I think the crowd should just chant MVP whenever anyone on our team is shooting FT's.

10-10 it certainly would be a great night for them to share the cigar.

I don't mind giving the cigar to either PP of KG as long as they keep playing like that every game.
