Call out the refs!

Doc absolutely NEEDS to call out the refs and get fined after this game tonight:

From KG and Perk absolutely getting no calls inside, to House getting kicked in the groin, touch fouls on the Celtics but nothing on the other end (particularly two jump shots for Pierce and Allen where there was contact in the 4th), and that awful non-charge at the end.

Doc needs to go out there and pull a Phil Jackson and make the refs and Stern stand up and recognize that their behavior tonight absolutely changed the result of the game!

PS: I just watched the Chauncey Billups pushoff/travel combo where he tweaked the hammy and got mad all over again.

Wake up Doc and realize that you CAN influence this series!

They called some cheesy fouls on Allen.

That was everything.

If you guys really think about it, the whole 4th quarter we were playing with a handicap on defense.

Allen couldn't be aggressive on Hamilton, which led to the Celts double teaming him. That right there allows Detroit to move the ball and get open shots.

You all going to call me a troll, but this NBA! Bad calls are part of the game. I can count same amount of bad calls for the pistons.

If you can't play through bad calls, then you don't deserve to win the game. Good teams prevail through bad calls. That is what seperates bad teams from good teams.

after all the bad calls we got against Atlanta and Cleveland - you'd think we'd get some home cooking.

this is the exact opposite of what happened. celts got shafted tonight. it is almost like the refs are aware that a controversy has been brewing since home teams were like 22-2 and articles were popping up on espn.com etc. stern probably ordered the refs to reduce their home court bias and as the refs overcorrected the celtics are collateral damage. this is my conspiracy. f the refs.

Not a troll, just ignoring reality.

Refs will be affected if they are called out for letting Billups and Hamilton (especially those two) get away with murder.

I can't remember the last finals that one coach (Pop) or the other (Jackson, Reilly) kept their mouths shut and said "good job refs". Doc needs to put this out there, because this will be an uphill climb in Detroit...

There will be bad calls on both sides of the ball in every game you will ever watch. Your team got the best of ours in the first, and we got the best of you tonight. 1-1 going back to the D. Deal with it.

It goes both ways.
You only notice/remember the bad/questionable calls down the stretch in a loss, anyway.
If you had won, you'd forget all about this tomorrow.

btw, I love Rondo.

I smell a conspiracy. Stern is obviously giddy over the possibility of another Pistons-Spurs finals.

What about the conspiracy to make both of these series go 7 games???

I thought this crew sucked both ways tonight and that we mostly lost it on our own. (or Detroit won it is probably more like it)

Stern would love to match up Duncan/Ginobili/Parker with Garnett/Pierce/Allen.
The Boston SIX party!

This thread is pointless. I bitch about refs in the game thread to vent, but I think we should just leave it at that. The refs didn't do us any favors, but the Pistons just beat us tonight.

If you're right about home team getting calls, every team should be cursing the celtics, as they've had home court advantage throughout the playoffs and won both of their first two series in game 7s at home. I think there has been bad calls against boston, but I also count bad calls against their opponents, the only real gripe I have against the officiating was the infamous pierce foul against atlanta. Other than that, I think it's been a case of fans remembering calls against their team.

They should really change the rule on that kicking people in the groin bit - as well as the pushing the ball at a guy foul. The refs make some dumb ass calls out there. I am not saying we lost cause of some bias - its just that man..they can be stupid.

Also I don't know about any "ref" conspiracy but the commentators are AWFULLY quick to side with the refs on any call. What's up with that..we don't even get replays..

In football games they analyze it to death - but here it's like Oh well I guess he put both hands on him... And your like huh? Or Billups has a 'special way" of drawing fouls. You mean he KICKS PEOPLE!?

What I have never really liked is the way Hamilton pushes and pull people as he's going through the screens and yet doesn't get called for fouls. Also how about calling a charge just once on Rip when there was 3 different occasions in which Paul had already established position but the refs called blocking fouls on Pierce.

Good win by the Pistons, maybe this will motivate our guys to return the favor on the road. On the plus side it looks like we have the old Jesus Shuttlesworth back.

P.S. Posey should never be put on Stuckey again. Dwayne Stuckey (lol) was the difference in the game.

Oh and Mark Jackson is horrible why couldn't Comcast get these game? :banghead:

The Piston do seem quite skilled at "working" the refs. People talk about the refs being "biased" but sometimes they just seem dim witted.. No doubt Chauncy figured out - hey kick a guy in the balls when you take a J and you get a call! <g>

Detroit shot 7 more free throws than Boston and 4 of those were from intentional fouls at the end of the game. The foul discrepancy was 3, and again, two of them were intentional at the end of the game. I don't see how you can blame the refs for this one.
