I am starting to think we could use a legit low post scorer. Someone who could slow the game down on the block and take posessions away for the other team. It helps in crunch time to be able to give the ball down low and let some one work on the block.

That and a good sized defensive stopper in the back court have my only concerns about the team all year.

Post offense is necessary to prevent good defense from turning the Celtics into the jump shooters they too often are.

A stopper in the back court dis-coordinates the opponent's offense generally and can sometimes lock down a hot opponent - like Hamilton last night.

People look at K. C. Jones stats and wonder why he is in the HOF but he was the front line of the best defense in the league in his day

KG sometimes play the post on offense but it is not his natural game and Tony Allen can play D but his inconsistency hurts.

The psychological crutch of the home court is gone....time for the team to beak out and run or fall down. Riding the home court advantage into the finals was never a viable option anyway.

Well, almost every team in this league needs low post scoring. The problem is there aren`t many players who can play with their back to the basket.

Still we have KG and Pierce who we can post up, that is better than most teams.

What I think we need even more is a SG/SF who can create his own shot off the bench. When Pierce is out we are in big trouble. We need to find a FA who can be a scorer off the bench. Or maybe there is a guy we can draft at 30 who could help us in that department.

The problem for us is with Perk on the floor it hinders us offensively SO MUCH. Our starting lineup has to play 4 on 5 on the offensive end because he is so offensively (Please Use More Appropriate Word). He's a younger, not as good defending version of Ben Wallace, but he shoots better from the FT line.

yeah but Perk helps our offense so much with his rebounding presence. He's still inconsistent but he was a huge part of Game 1 with his presence on the floor. Thank god he's a Center and he should always been 5 feet from the basket so his lack of skills aren't exploitable.

You move from him and you just gave someone a dunk, unlike Rondo where you move from him and you just gave Rondo a 17 footer. I like Perk's chances over that and most defenses recognize that Perk is going to be found if you just leave him and actually play 4 on 5. Whereas there is limited to no downside of playing 4 on 5 with Rondo out there.

it's a combo of both Rondo and Perkins playing with the offensive skills a big man [unrelable jumper, and FT shooter]. If we had McDysess as our Center our offense would be a lot smoother. And our defense would suck of course but that's how it goes. Maybe we should trade for a combo of both in Big Z?
