ESPN Commentators are very biased.

And I hate it. Maybe it's only me but man I could of sworn all 3 of them hoped that Boston loses. :noway:

Van Gundy seems OK, but that Mike Breen got his panties all wet when LeBron did anything in that series, and all he's done in game 1 and 2 is gush about the Pistons. He only got his voice all loud and bothered when the Pistons made a nice play, never when we did. And Jackson is probably a Boston-hater going back to his playing days!

They are all out to get us. Stern, the refs, the announcers, ESPN, Charles Barkley, Bill Simmons, everybody!!!! Trust nobody!!! That is unless they profess clear objectivity like Tommy Heinsohn.

Yeah, I can't stand when the Celtics win a game you see more highlights of the other team than of the Green

Man, these threads are driving me insane. Why all the whining and self pity?

The announcers job is to gush about both teams. Boston had their fair share of it too. Instead of calling a play by play, they just talk about whatever team is doing the best...

its stupid, but it is what it is.

seriously, the whole front pagee is like 6 posts threads that basically all say the same 2 things. you should sticky an overly optomistic thread and an severely pessimistic thread to clear this crap up.

The only person who absolutely 100% is anti-Celtics is Mike Breen on ESPN. Everyone else I think does a great job.

As being a fan of neither team, I don't think that they are being biased. I do think that Mark Jackson loves hearing himself talk though. That guy needs to calm down and shut his mouth more often. I will say this, most fans of neither team are probably pulling for the Pistons, but that's probably because they see them as the underdogs and people tend to cheer for that.

I think JVG does a nice job, FWIW.

JVG is easily the best commentator I've seen. I want to start a petition that he never be offered another head coaching job, because he needs to stay in the booth

I think JVG is an excellent commentator - he's one of the only people that calls out the refs. He's one of the few people who doesn't follow the league's party line completely.

I like Walton for a similar reason - he mocks the league's party line by being ridiculous and over the top in following it.

I thought JVG was an awful coach. Houston really improved when he left. I can't forget LJ guarding Duncan.

I agree about JVG (and Breen DOES come off as biased, always whines about dubious fouls/no-calls against us, which the others rightly call him out on. His comment on how PJ Brown should have been called for a flagrant on Ilgauskas was idiotic). Gundy's just a complete wise-@$$, which I never would have expected. He's kind of like Reggie Miller (another favorite).

I also used to love Walton's goofy style since you could practically smell the fumes coming from his presence, but I believe he's only been doing half-times this year. My favorite crew all-time was on TNT with Harlan, Ainge, and Thompson. I'll never forget one night there was a retro theme where every player wore throwback jerseys, and Ainge was wearing a HUGE faux 'fro. Thompson seemed legitimately pissed off. Ainge was hilarious on color; like Gundy, he wouldn't hesitate to call out officials (he was on fire during the Lakers/T-Wolves farce that the Wolves somehow won).
