I don't know. That's a foul in regular play, but at the end of the game the refs try to not blow the whistle unless it's really obvious. Barry had a great opportunity to jump into Fisher and draw contact right after the pump fake. Instead he took a dribble and didn't really jump into Fisher. Barry could have done a much better job selling it IMO.

I think Joey Crawford might want to do one of those Southwest airlines "wanna get away for a while" commercials.

Last year in the Finals, the Spurs got the same benefit of an exact same call.
Bowen grabbed Lebron's jersey and it wasn't callled a foul.

^ Yeah I don't know if too many people are crying for the Spurs. Its just too juicy that Joey Crawford ended up being the ref who made a really critical no call against the Spurs. Good talk radio fodder.

Was not a foul. Barry could have jumped into him, or even taken the initial shot, and it would have been a sure foul. Instead he took a dribble and tried to get around Fisher.
Either way, the Lakers deserved to win that game. They outplayed the Spurs from start to finish.

Do you remember the game in Boston against Detroit, Billups pump fakes... Gets Allen in a popcorn and bump, foul... Game over! Detroit wins!
Fast forward to NBA playoffs.
Brent Barry pump fakes, Fisher in a popcorn. Fisher bumps and fouls Barry. No call. Game over Lakers win.
The NBA.. its fraudtastic. ..

Nothing to see here, move along. Forces are in motion to setup a Celtics VS Lakers finals, and nothing will change this.

I don't think anyone around here will forget that, or let TA forget it.
And ours happened with 0.1 seconds left in the game.
Idk, I guess if I was in the shoes of a Laker's fan[shudder], I'd be glad that it was a no call. I really hate when games end on FTs.

haha---yep....and I like how the post game guys wanted to shy away from the subject...putting more blame on Barry than the officials...Everyone involved in the NBA wants to keep their jobs.

Conspiracy theorists answer me this:
If the NBA is fixed, why does San Antonio keep winning the title every other year?
And if Brent Barry did what Billups did against the C's earlier in the season and jumped into Fisher, he absolutely would have got the call. Instead he tried to drive around Fisher.
Even Pop said it wasn't a foul. And he's not one to bite his tongue about things like that, if he really thought it was a foul he would have let people know in that press conference despite the fact he'd get fined.
Also why would NBA owners let the league be rigged? This is one question that none of the dopey conspiracy theorists ever answer. You all act like the NBA is owned by David Stern, like hes somehow pulling the strings on the whole league. He's EMPLOYED by the owners. Why would they allow the league to get rigged? Why would the 29 other teams in the league allow some sort of conspiracy that would benefit the Lakers or some other big market team? Also why would Stern do this? It would be a huge personal risk for him, and it doesn't put any extra money in his pockets.

and why are, out of all people, boston fans complaining about conspiracies, when they probably stand to benefit as much as the lakers if these conspiracies were true.

agreed..
to OP
how about the travel from duncan?? most obvious travel this year..and the 3 by manu was a 2...i believe...and the shot by fisher hit rim so it shoulda reset the clock...anyways...the refs let some calls go for both teams..

the Spurs have had their toughest playoffs ever imo. They had to play the Suns and the f**king Hornets. Chris Paul and Steve Nash. I think that was an obvious whistle swallow by the ref there, but I don't believe in the NBA fixing games. What I do believe in is that the refs in this league flat out suck. In that situation you saw contact you give Barry a 3-shot foul, why? The Spurs are the defending NBA champs and this series would be tied 2-2. talk about zero respect. If that was Michael Jordan the refs would be personally escorting him to the line for a 3 shot foul.
I guess the Spurs repeat chances are over. But to be fair they look fatigued and this has to have been one of the toughest playoffs ever for them. Factor in winning the NBA title in 2007. they aren't rebounding well and hitting their shots.
they are losing to the Lakers because fatigue is catching up finally.
they will be back as champions one day if they don't force a game 7 against LA.
in the meantime. your team will a$$**** them Lakers in the finals.
Go Celtics!

Why does Barry have the ball in his hands at this point in the game? The refs made the right no call, even Pop said it. There is no one on this board that hates the lakers more than I, and it was the right call.

Take a look at the Billups-Allen play in the regular season and the Barry play side by side and you'll see there's really no comparison. As much as it sucks to see games end on free throws and players trying to get fouled instead of trying to play basketball, Billups did what was best for his team to win. He got the defender in the air and went for the contact. Barry got the defender in the air, took a dribble to get an open shot and then thought better of it and tried to draw the contact. If he had tried drawing the contact without taking the dribble, he would've collided with Fisher and the refs would've been forced to make the call.

THATS NOT A FOUL!!! how isnt a guy jumping into another guy a foul? Thats a clear fould, you might mean its not an "end of the game" foul but that pretty clearly is a foul and regardless what Barry did after contact was made it should have been called.
And Im sick of people saying the Lakers deserved to win that game, the last time I checked a game is 48 minutes long, if a foul was called it wouldnt have mattered deserved to win because SA would be tied.
