Offseason Idea

I know, I know we're in the middle of the ECF
But I just had an idea for the C's this off season
What if they made a move that centered around:
Ray Allen
for
Zach Randolph/#6
PG- Rajon Rondo/Ty Lawson
SG- Paul Pierce/OJ Mayo or Eric Gordon
SF- James Posey/Paul Pierce
PF- Kevin Garnett/Zach Randolph
C- Kendrick Perkins/Leon Powe/Glenn Davis
It would give the team a different look. I think I'd like that team a lot more than the current team.
Thoughts? Would it be close for NY?

No way the Knicks do that, now that Isiah isn't in charge.

I would definitely do it.

Just an awful trade. You are giving up one of the best scorers in the game for the blackhole. This is the same blackhole that makes Eddie Curry look like Shaq on the court. I have never seen a better passing center than Shaq.
Oh yeah, he won't play D and and is to fat to get up and down the court.
What is so great about the 6 pick anyways? We had the 5 last year in a deeper draft and landed Ray Allen with it.

Why would you kill your cap for the next several years with a near max contract for a "bad character guy" that plays a position you are strongest at? That is a lot of money for a bench player.
Plus he isn't that good.

I wouldn't exactly call it an awful trade considering the Knicks apparently wouldn't even consider the deal.
It would put us in salary cap hell? It adds a year to Ray Allen's deal at shorter money.
He'd be a backup low post scoring threat with the thought being that Eric Gordon would be the long-term replacement at the 2 to pair with Rondo.

I think it's a bad trade but the Knicks would probably do this trade. Walsh wants to get a shorter contract for Randolph and it's going to cost them the #6 pick to do it.
This is the type of trade Walsh is probably looking for a team to do.

Evidently he's starting and on the bench at the same time.

No from the Knicks side
Of course a straight up deal would work for us

but that wont happen for boston :p
Unless we can trade multiple bad contracts...we are not looking ot trade our pick (yes im speaking for the knicks organization :p..jp )
but i disagree with the guy who says that last years draft is deeper then this one...i think this draft is pretty deep. Lots of quality players...and tons of players with potential...ALA Jordan/McGee/Alexander..ect ect
picks 1-18 should all be decent in quality

Hell, I'd even do a Allen & Scal for Zach, Jerome James & #6 deal.
Our window is narrow as is and "The Big 2" cant afford to wait on Allen.

That's ridiculous to include the 6. Zach Randolph is really underrated, he's in a bad situation on the Knicks, and is flawed, but he is still a player. If you think Ray's slump is really indicative of something and he'll never truly bounce back, then it makes sense for both teams.
