I may be getting ahead of the Celtics with this post but....

..... as the Celtics have found such comfort in the home court advantage they earned, it should be noted that in the finals the critical game 5 will be in the city of the Western finalist if the Celtics come out out of the East.

So winning at home and losing on the road puts the Green down 3-2.

The NBA started that crap in 84-85 and IMO it cost the Celtics the title tht year, although not a Laker fan on the planet will agree with me.

I'm only worried about one game 5 right now, and it is on tonight. I can't even think past the first quarter, never mind the next series if their should be one.

I'm with canman on not being able to think ahead.

If we do manage to advance

The Laker's don't seem to concern me as much as the Pistons or Spurs for some reason. I know they have been the best playoff team this year but still I underestimate them. I think its due to the fact that we annihilated them in the reg season (pre Pau), which has no bearing whatsoever in the playoffs, but I just remember a team that plays no defense and just scores a bunch of points.


Let's take care of business at home first before we think ahead. One game at a time(lol).

I agree, the 2-3-2 format takes home court advantage away from the team that earned the home court. You should be playing more home games then your opponent first, to really have an advantage. Meaning as a home team, you always play more or at least the same amount of home games as you opponent at any point of the series.


The fact that you could lose the series 4-1 without playing more home games when Home court advantage is yours is just plain dumb.

I've always thought the opposite - I always thought the difficulty for the lower seeded team in "holding serve" at home was compounded by the fact that they need to win three in a row to do it. I feel like it's easier to win three games at home if you have a letdown road game in between them.

In any case, if we win game 6 or 7, the chips and the refs will likely be really stacked against us unfortunately...regardless of the format. We can just pray that the league really is interested in a Celtics/Lakers rivalry rather than establishing a new Laker dynasty. I'm not optimistic on that one.
