RESPECT. Two veteran teams going at it. You can tell guys have respect for each other, esp. KG and Sheed.

I don't see KG getting so hyped up and emotional like he did vs Atlanta and Cleveland. He knows you can't **** around with Detroit.

If we somehow don't beat the Pistons and they advance to the finals instead of us I really hope they win another title.

We must give respect to each and every one of them

EXACTLY!

Go back to the hawks horford thread, when I said, when it gets to pistons-celtics it will be a different type of basketball, no trash talk, like that hawks series. That was zaza trying to instigate KG and all that ****, it was crappy basketball. This series has had some great games. And when you respect each other it makes it so much better.

That being said Hamilton has gotten in his fair share of trash talk with us though. He is a good player, I just wish he would stop complaining, and stop talking trash with players like perk, and posey. It doesn't help the pistons out, he really needs to learn to shut up.

^ Same goes for us bro. Perk had an MVP type of game last night and he got nailed with a T, also Posey needs to learn to shut his mouth when needed. But I do agree Hamilton needs to chill the **** out and just be the player that he is.

^No, I agree. Not so much on posey, but I was all over horford for what he did, I would feel like a hypocrite to not get on Perks case. He needs to shut it too.

Trash talking happens and has been happening for years. On the topic, I am glad we are playing the Pistons now because I really feel they are the second best team in the league despite their record and not far behind the Cs. I don't think the Lakers are better than the Pistons. They have the best single player, but the Pistons are an overall better team.

i've really thought this for a while and i can't wait for it to be evident in the next round.

i don't think there is a bit of defense in the west that is up to par with what the celtics, pistons and even cavs have played in the playoffs. the spurs are a good defensive team, but they're just a bit too old to have the impact defensively that they have in the past.

i think the defense will be a shock to the lakers system if they end up in the finals, no matter who they end up facing (though i think it will be the celtics).

meh, trash talking between players is fine. so long as there's respect, and it doesn't cross a line. i don't think KG felt horford and zaza had his respect enough and their chatter crossed the line. but the pistons, they have everyone's respect. i don't mind rip's trash talking, i mind his dirty play.

If we get by the Pistons, and I think we will, but in a game 7 classic, then we'll get the Lakers matchup you want. I think the Lakers just might be a better team than the Pistons though, but more than that, a far different type of team, that could give us more trouble. They're a lot more athletic than the Pistons, and the athletic teams give us some problems. They're sort of in between the Hawks and the Pistons in terms of athleticism, but a lot more skilled than the Hawks (and a lot better coached).

We shall see. Could be one for the ages.

It is just a pet peeve of mine. I would rather watch two guys respect each other while playing a great game, like 'sheed and KG. Rather then Rip hamilton and Kendrick Perkins jaw it out as they slowly jog up the court behind the refs.

I know bird was a big trash talker, and so was MJ, and yada yada yada, but my point is, I like two great players having respect for each other. rather then one great player, and a scrub yapping at each other.

Yeah. Agreed. For example LeBron and Pierce, you didn't see me get on their case for trash talking. Because they are both great players who respect each other. And will slap their hands rather then bump noses.

I see nothing wrong with trash talking. The emotions are running high and obviously there will be some **** talking as a result.

And the Zaza/KG thing is completely understandable. The young Hawks obviously saw themselves as up-and-coming underdogs trying to establish themselves against the ultra-hyped favorites. Zaza wanted to show that he's not afraid of KG and the Celtics because of who they are and went at him. KG, in turn, couldn't let his team or anyone see that he'll take **** from the Hawks. That really fired that team and the fans up.

Both players did what they had to do and we had a very good series for both teams. The Celtics won, as they should, and the Hawks made a name for themselves.

Ok, but the incident happened before game 7 and Zaza/KG thing did fire the Hawks fans up. Why do you think Zaza went at KG? To ask about restaurants in Boston?

When you want to demostrate you're not afraid of your opponent, fist you show your teeth but then you've to BITE... He showed his teeth and KG bited... A blow out in game 7 demostrates that despite of your "monkey tricks" you're a man with no guts, men with guts don't accept to be blown out...
