Brilliant job by Doc

Post#1 » by jfs1000d » Sat May 31, 2008 4:05 am

Got to give credit where it is due.

I don't think he made a major mistake this series as he did against Atlanta and Cleveland. That shows growth. He shortened his bench, and he got us in the right frame of mind.

I know a lot of us have taken a cue from Simmons about Doc's rotations etc., but he got Pierce to play with KG and got Ray to take a lesser role. That;s more important than playing Veal instead of Bibg Baby.

You got to give doc credit for Perk and Rondo. Also, he has gotten the most out of a thin bench. He was brilliant in regular season and has gotten better as the playoffs went on.

Doc is going to play the big 3 40 plus minutes, go Posey and Brown and Casell. That's the rotation by an large.

WOO!!!

I agree. Doc was on fire in the second half making adjustments all over the place. When he is flexible he makes good decisions.

I thought he did very well. I don't like Cassell coming in, but for a few minutes, I can deal and I'm not sure what choice he has. For all that Doc has put up with, by me, the board, the fan base, and all of the media, I just have to say good for him. He deserves it.

How do you get 3 superstars to lay together in one season? That, and a 2nd year Pg who abg 5 ppg last year and a center who only showed glimpses that he belonged in the NBA.

He molded that into an NBA finals team. Umm, brilliant.

I've been saying the man is COTY since training camp.

Still, if he could figure out a way to make Cassell give up shots to teammates instead of hoisting them up at the 2nd fastest rate on the team (behind Gabe Pruitt) I'd feel a lot better.

Or, just play Eddie House and Tony Allen over Cassell against the Lakers.

Tony had 21 the game he started when Rajon was injured.

When the game ended, right after he hugged with Pierce, I wanted to hi-five Doc.

May be able to do that against PLakers. Pistons, he had to play Cassell because of the ball pressure.

I think we are going to have to score to defeat LA. This is going to be fun.

If Cassell makes those shots no one is complaining. Cassell has value. I still think he is going to make a difference.

I gave Doc a fist-bump in Vegas during the Summer League....said Good luck and we need a Big man....he said thanks and agreed with me....so happy he got KG a few weeks later..!

Really, a great job in this series....He's growing as a coach--hope he knows how to beat L.A...!!

Doc deserves credit, he did a good job, but out coaching Flip Saunders is something many a coaches have done in the post-season. Out coaching Phil Jackson is a different story.

I was one of those adamantly against Doc after going to 7 games against the Hawks and the Cavs.

I'm still not a supporter. I've seen too many C's games this year for that to change. But I will readily admit he coached a pretty good game tonight.

I just hope he brings his "A" game against the Lakers, because if we see the normal non-adjusting Doc we're in serious trouble.

Game 5 showed his turnaround from his past mistakes. He always covered the in-bound pass(Remember that...), and fouled when we were up 3 and the clock was running down (Kyle Korver anyone.) That just shows that he's actually learned from his mistakes and is building up some experience. I believe this is the first series he's coached that hasn't gone 7 games!

I still think there needs to be more KG postups being ran.

That's gunna be a lot harder vs LA with Gasol down low, than it was against maxiel, sheed and mcdyess

I wanted Doc gone during the Atlanta series for going away from his regular season rotation....Glad we made it through that garbage.

yeah I have hated on Doc as much as the next guy, but he really has shown that he can manage this team. I gotta take my hat off to him because of that clip of the timeout in the 3rd quarter was maybe one of the best lines I have heard from him.

I never liked him not attacking the post or the paint however I am also and always been big on Perk. Can Danny Ainge do the impossible job and find a way to resign Perk before his Contract runs out.

Perk looks as if the pressure of the playoffs just makes him feel at home.

I think Perk may indeed become a Beast because if he has grown up like Tommy say's. What will he be when his game matures with him.

I also don't want to forget our defensive coach and Cifford. They have been a huge part of this team also.

Leaving Posey in for the stretch is one of the most important things Doc could have ever done.
Great idea sticking with him.
