the worst call i think i've ever seen...
...has got to be that Salvatore offensive foul call on Pierce. Everyone KNOWS he would have given that call to Chauncy. The double standard in the NBA is pathetic. Stern should start fining referees who make bull **** calls like that. Both Salvatore and the dude from SA/LA game 5 should be out about 10 grand right now. I'll tell ya if that 6 point swing cost us the game i would be the world's angriest man right now.

They fouled Pierce for "initiating contact"...even though he GOT jumped into. Totally different from where Billups got the call, for jumping INTO the Celtics defenders. Get it?
The NBA...where consistent refereeing happens!

If they called a travel, I could deal with it. Even though I would like to see some of Billups' lean-ins to see if he doesn't drag a pivot foot as well. It would have been a rare case of the officials seeing the travel in the middle of a ton of contact, but it would have been an accurate call.
Offensive foul? Uh, no.

The thing that is really bad is that earlier in the week Stephen A and all of the talking heads were saying the Barry was at fault for not looking to draw more contact after he got Fisher in the air.
NOW we see Pierce lean slightly to the right to draw a little contact and it's called on offensive foul. So did Barry make the right move? I guess it would have been an offensive foul if he did what everyone thought he should have.
I almost think this was a **** to the NBA from Salvatore after they came out and said that Crawford made the wrong call. These referees are so full of themselves that they think they should be above reproach.

You know, that's a good point. I didn't look at it like that. But in the end, it was more of a "**** you!" to the fans.
And to whoever said "Pierce travelled, end of discussion," why didn't the refs just call a travel then?
Oh yeah! Because they suck! I could've lived with the correct call.

The 'move to make contact' is Billups main game. I was watching it with a die hard, as homer as we are Pistons fan and he couldn't believe the home cooking they got.
Pissed him off even more that they lost after getting those calls

Heres why this comment bothers me; do you know the difference between a foul and a travel? Because if you did you would know they are not interchangeable. A travel is a loss of posion while a foul counts for more. A player can get kicked out of a game for too many fouls (not for too many travels).
I'd like to see what happened to your team if everytime they traveled they were called for a foul. I think you begin to see the problem with it, eventually.
This is coming from a pacer fan who thought the call was ridiculous.

So ignorant. Okay, if it's a travel, call a travel. Don't call some ridiculous foul.
Fouls matter at the end of close games like this. It could get paul into foul trouble late, start free throw shooting early and the pistons could have won at the line becuase of this one bad call.
