Its kind of strange how lop sided the predictions are for the finals. I'll be completley honest, I havn't watched LA much at all. Are they really that good? To the point where we don't stand much of a chance? Thats the way the media and fans are making it out to be...

I haven't seen anything that says you don't have a chance, just that the lakers will win. The reasons whether valid or not?

1. Kobe Bryant
2. Celtics struggled against the Hawks
3. I am learning that people think rayray and KG are choke artists.
4. Kobe Bryant
5. Kobe Bryant
6. celtics haven't looked impressive
7. Kobe Bryant

People never want to give us a chance no matter what we do...

lets be honest, the whole season people have said all kinds of negative things about us, and 9/10 they've been wrong. If not 10/10, and thats a fact. the media is against us, ESPN is against us. Fact. C'mon just listen to these guys, they want to be right. They can't believe we made it this far. Chris Sheridan picks everybody over us, he hates us.

Some of these people probably don't even watch the Celtics, one article I read refered to Rondo as Rando. lol

The Lakers aren't really that good.
''The Celtics struggled against the Hawks''..Can we please end that already.
We are in the finals as well.
We beat the Pistons in 6 games.(they're a lot better then the Lakers)
Kobe is going to have trouble doing anything except taking shots against the best defense in the NBA.
We'll have the rest of that team defended so well Kobe would have to drop 50 on us every game of the series to even win.

Sheriden, Skip Bayless and Jemelle Hill said all year we were going to lose to the Pistons. Where are they now? Are they admitting they were wrong? No. They're hiding. Alot of ESPN's so called experts, are wrong alot for people labeled experts.

There are only 2 reason. The Pistons beat us at home by 6, so they think they can take a game in Boston. What they don't realize is that the Pistons had to play to perfection to beat us at home. They also don't realize the Boston crowd for the finals might be the loudest/best crowd the Celtics have had in 20 years. The same can't be said of LAL. Lakers have a lot more casual fans/ Kobe nuthuggers/ Celebrities attending. I expect Boston to win all their home games. The other reason is the fact that LAL is undefeated at home so they think that after LAL wins one of the first 2 they can sweep the middle 3. Unfortunately for them all good things must come to end. We have first hand knowledge about that.

I think is rediculous that all 8 ESPN experts picked the Lakers. C'mon, the Celtics are a real team. They've proven it time and time again. Someone has to believe we can win over there...they hate the Celtics. And I hate them, Skip Bayless is a complete fool.

Before the season started he predicted the Nets were going to win the division and called Garnett, Garnot
After that he ranted on about how soft KG's play was.

Here's the breakdown.

KG= Leadership, 66 wins, Defensive Player of the Year, damn near became the MVP of the league for the 2nd time, NBA Finals appearance for the first time in over 20 years.

As far as the analysts go not giving us a chance in the Finals, I just don't get it.
Is it because the Spurs didn't get the foul call that would have made the series 2-2?
Or maybe it's because they got some big oaf that can't play a lick of defense in Gasol?
Either way I'm pretty sure of our team and what they're capable of.
I was more scared of a Celtics vs Spurs match up in the Finals....Wayyyyy more.

Not to mention they brag about how the lakers have 14 championships.
Only the titles after the shot clock era began count.
They have 9.
That's like saying the Cleveland Browns won 9 superbowls.

Guys, c'mon. Why do people put so much stock into what these "experts" say? They have degrees in journalism probably, who happen to write for ESPN. Whoopty Freaking Doo!!! I am probably more of a "expert" than these tools. I coach basketball. I played basketball through college. I watch as much as I can. I know the freaking game. Do you think any of these idiots could break a full court press? No. I, as many others probably on this board and others, can. That is the problem with the media. They have forum to spout out any crap they want, with no expertise, and they don't have to answer for it when they are so blatantly wrong. What were the Celtics against the Almighty west this year? 25-5 or something like that? Does anyone think that maybe Atlanta got hot and the Celtics were a bit rattled, having never been together for the playoffs before? And Cleveland was the defending EC champs. Oh, and Detroit is, IMO, the second best team in the league? These experts are morons. I think it was Stein who said if the Celtics win, they will lose to LA, but if Detroit beat Boston, they would be LA. Huh??? How the f does that work experts? I'm glad they ALL went with LA, because when they are wrong, they all can't hide. Someone has to write their crappy articles, or maybe we'll get lucky and they'll all be fired for being so freaking stupid.

I'm tired of the Hawks arguement. We played pretty half-ass up until game seven, probably because we locked up home court so early we kind of got soft down the stretch. Cleveland has the best player in the league (sorry Kobe, your #2 in my book, literally and metaphorically), so that wasn't going to be an easy series anyway. We improved against the second best team in the league in Detroit, and took them down on their home court twice, finishing it in 6. Do we have a chance? We're the best team in the league, best record, best road record, dominant against the west all season, yeah, I think we have a chance. There is no underdog in this series as I see it, it's just going to come down to who wants it more, who gets the bounces, and who Bennet Salvatore wants to win more.

Yeah, I hate Mauer more, but even his screw ups (or screwings) weren't so blatant as Bennett's.

The experts are acting as if the Lakers are playing the Memphis Grizzlies in the finals. Did we not win 66 games in the regular season with the best defense? Or does that not count because we supposedly played our whole season in the WNBA/NCAA/D-league, aka the Leastern conference. Does the fact that we "barely" made it past the Hawks (even though our four wins against them were unambiguous blow-outs) negate us beating the team with the second best record in six games, twice on the road? Hopefully all these "expert" picks are posted on every Celtics' locker; imagine for a second Garnett/Pierce/Allen realizing that no one thinks they have a chance to win. Lakers fans better prepare to be rudely awakened.

I'm Extremely happy that these ESPN "experts" have given the title to the Lakers...It's gonna be that extra motivation the Celtics need to win this in 6.

Well we have been a bit inconsistent during the post season, so people will find reasons to discount our sucsess. We were supposed to be the "Dallas" of last yr and be a regular season team and a playoff joke too. So I am fine with them picking LA because it relieves pressure on our guys and provides extra motivation. It also (hopefully) will provide them with that edge they played wiith all season.
LA really has played well in the playoffs, but Utah gave them the only real run for their money. Denver had no interest in trying to play d so that was done and over with, San Antonio didnt seem "right" to me. Almost like thier urgency wasn't 100% like it has been. But imo where SA lost the game was their older bench, vs LA's yothful and energetic bench. We are not SA and we are not LA but our bench has both vets and young energy with Powe,Baby,Tony (if healthy) and even Ehouse. Throw in dependable players like Posey and PJ anad hopefully Sam, and we may hav what SA didnt..But we will all see in a few wks

What's also interesting is that most people are picking the Lakers to win in 6 or 7, which means that the Lakers would have to close out the series IN BOSTON, being that both games 6 and 7 are at the Garden...I think that would be a very difficult task.
