Perkins Is Crucial
obviously we all know that he needs to play interior defense at a high level on gasol who is a wizard on the offensive end with his post moves or his pasisng
but i was watching nba matchup on nbatv earlier and they were talking about kobes struggles in the regular season shooting against the celtics, and on the clips they showed perkins blitzing Kobe on the perimeter moving his feet quickly laterally really disrupted kobe and the ball movemen of the lakers, Perkins has to be able to jump out on the guards without getting in foul trouble, if Perk can stay on the court in the series we will be in a good position
now obviously, the lakers are an entirley diffrent team now with gasol, so who knows how much this even matters

Your amazing......I have been on this board for a very short time and keep running across your posts.
Please check to see how many free throw attempts Kobe got against the Spurs?

Why thanks for the compliment, I always strive to be at my best!!! As for FT numbers since when does that allow you to determine the foul numbers? FT's are only taken in the act of shooting or when the other team is in the penalty, oh and technicals! I was talking about foul problems for Perk!
Game 1
FT were +1 for LA but SA was a +5 in fouls
Game 2
FT were +10 for LA but SA was a +3 in fouls
Game 3
FT were +6 for SA but LA was a +3 in fouls
Game 4
FT were +7 for SA but LA was a +3 in fouls
Game 5
FT were even but SA was a +2 in fouls
See how the number of fouls are different form the number of FT's (can't always double the foul #'s to get the FT #'s), Ill make them bold just in case, I have to keep my amazing-ness up.

You have just been Perk'd!!!

Nice job skirting what you said.
You basically said that any contact on Kobe Bryant is a foul. In the Spurs series he shot about 10 free throws TOTAL.
So.....obviously not
Spurs scripted their defense to prevent Kobe going to the line. They managed to do that, but I wouldn't call it the best strategy. I think it's pretty ridiculous to come up with Kobe FTA in this series, when it was clearly the game plan to not let Kobe shoot freebies.
So, what in the hell do you want to tell us, with this 2 FTA/game against the Spurs?!

A contact on Kobe Bryant when defending pick and roll won't give Kobe a free throw, even the ref called it a foul

I thought he would of understood that when I said FT's are only awarded when in the act of shooting or if the opposing team is in the penalty and also the fact that the post he first quoted me on I was talking about Perk blitzing the pick and roll, but I guess he didn't get it even though I said I was talking about foul problems for Perk.
1)A foul does NOT equal
2)FT's! If Perk touches Kobe he
3)will get called for a foul, too
4)many fouls and you are in foul
5)trouble meaning he goes to the
6)bench.

Perkins drives me crazy. I am not one of his biggest fans, he can be the type of player I used to hate playing against. He thinks he gets fouled every time he bricks a layup or gets stuffed, and apparently has never committed a foul in his life based on the way he carries on.
But what drives me crazy is his inconsistency. Sometimes he looks like someone who could easily average 12 points, 15 rebounds and 2 blocks a game. Other times he looks like one of the worst back up centres in the league.
I know he is still very young and his minutes have always been limited either by coaches or foul trouble, but he has been in the league 5 years. If we could get the Moses Malone type of Perk regularly instead of the Dwayne Schnitzus Perk, we will dominate this series and take home 17. Not to say that our winning depends on his play but if he strings together a series of good games then this thing should be in the bag.
