You don't get much softer than the Lakers.

Pau Gasol is considered soft for a PF; even moreso now since he is playing C for the Lakers. Even Darko Milicic called him soft. Ouch!

Lamar Odom is probably their most physical player and he is a SF trapped in a PF's body. Like Donyell Marshall, he puzzles you with his ability to grab 10 boards a game yet play like he is a 6'3" tall. Definitely shys away from contact.

Ronny Turiaf is their only big off the bench. The world's greatest man- cheerleader is undersized and underskilled (as witnessed by his 35% shooting from the floor in the playoffs).

The Lakers have been giving up a 100 points per game and have a negative rebounding margin in the playoffs.

The Lakers are soft and we all know that soft doesn't win championships.

You should go back and check the scores in the playoffs.....

Pao Gasol IS soft for a center....but not for a PF. Yet he does manage to open up the offense with his passing and gets timely stops on defense. His length affects the players he guards.

Lamar Odom has up and down nights.....but the lakers have been good enough to overcome it so far.

Defense and interior scoring wins championships.

The Lakers and all the Kobe ballsucking media are going to find that out and act all suprised. It's history, baby, that's all.

WOW.................

Seeing how every post you have made is about the Lakers being soft and Ronny's a cheerleader, I was wondering is there anything else you have to say that is related to this series or are you going to go on everyboard and copy and paste the same thing over and over agian.

I mean I guess you didnt get the point when the mods locked your thread in G.B.

But hey good luck on the next post, I have a feeling its going to be something to do with softness.............

Believe me, we got your point.
No need to post it on everyboard, its actually sort of embarrasing.

Heres another one who will have to be taught different.

With every series all the point guards we faced had a tougher time getting in the paint and it will be like wise for Rondo too.

I like Rondo's game actually but we have faced some pretty good pg's in this playoffs with a lot more experience then Rondo.

The thing is....the lakers are versitile.....and while they have gotten the rep for soft defense it seems to keep getting better with each passing game of the playoffs.

LA was ranked 5th in defensive rating this season, so they aren't to be underestimated, IMO.

If you talking about averages then your right.

But your post make it seem like every game we played teams scored 100 points which clearly isn't the case.

The entire Western conference is soft and don't like to play D. The Spurs were the exception. But age & injury finally made them soft also. The Lakers have not seen a defensive front court any where close to Perk, KG & PP.

Thats essentialy what it means to average 100 points allowed per game. You might've had one good defensive night where you held a team to 80 but then you let them get 120. That's how it works out. Lakers are the softest team down low by far, that the Celtics have played. Perkins should have a field day.

The media predicted the Lakers as favorites to win the West the year Shaq was traded and picked Miami to finish 4th in the East that year. They were dead wrong.

The media said the new Big-3 could never work and we would be lucky to make the playoffs. They were wrong.

The media claimed our lack of experience together would cause us to lose to Detroit. They were wrong.

The media is now picking the Lakers to win in 5 or 6. Once again they will be wrong.

How can anybody who claims to know basketball pick the Lakers. Sure .... they may actually win.... I don't believe it.... but they are a good team. But if you are a Laker homer you still can't imagine them winning in less than 7.

On paper, I don't think this series is even close as the Celtics look like they should dominate. It is the Kobe factor and the bench factor that makes this series interesting.... much the way the 1987 Celtics-Pistons series was interesting.

Still, the Lakers have no answer for Paul Pierce. Kobe is a solid defender but he is not big enough to handle Pierce by himself. For those who wonder, Pierce averages about 27 against the Lakers and although Kobe is a great defender.... he never looks like it against Boston.

I predict we win in 6 .... like the way the 1986 Celtics beat the Rockets in 6. We should sweep but there will a couple of sloppy losses.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

you guys do have a great defense you guys have been giving up what around 80+ a game?. you guys played 3 teams that struggle to score so don't think its all because of your great defense. Lakers played 2 great scoring teams and a sub par spurs team.

gasol will have a easier time with KG he is not no tim duncan who plays on block 80% of the time KG is a perimeter player and if he is on the block he will do the usual fade away not to seek contact and he is not soft? even ron artest says kg is a easy cover.

Oh yeah KG is the easiest Celtics to guard.

I got no problem with them. They're just standing up for their team, man. It's not as if they don't have a reason to gripe either.. they snagged the #1 seed in the insanely competitive West, put some pretty damn good teams to bed on the way to the finals and now they gotta read Gonzo imply that they might not even be on par with the friggin Hawks?

One of the things that used to piss me off about this board was Darth Celtic killing any type of mingling with other fans. This board was like the North Korea of RealGM, if a foreigner gave DC's avatar a shifty look they were looking at a suspension.

I'm hoping the mods play this series pretty liberally. This is the finals, the kiddy gloves gotta come off. Unless someones being a straightup dick some level of trashtalking should be allowed imo.
