Slightly OT: Where to eat near Garden?

A friend and I are driving up from D.C. for the game tomorrow and we're not all that familiar with the area around the Garden. Any suggestions for a pre-game meal and drinks?

Go Celtics!

Cheers.

The North End has a lot of great restaurants. Or if you want something with a lot of Boston sports history I believe Four's Tavern (I think that is the name) is good. It is right around the corner. It'll be packed though, so get there early.

Hm, is it? I've been by it a million times but never went in. Good to know it's alright!

I like the Fours, and the Grand Canal--also on Canal Street--isn't too bad. A lot of restaurants on Canal Street, pp, but the North End is also totally worth it.

Halftime is definitely the place to go if you're a Celtics fan. It's directly across the street from The Garden. Good pizza and large beers.

I'd also check out Sully's Tap (right next to Halftime) if you want to drink cheep beers with fellow Celtics fans. No food there though.

Halftime Pizza is like eating cardboard. Man if you eat there you might as well eat inside at the game. I guess it's all about convenience versus experience. i do understand both.

Also, there is a new place right across from The Garden called DJ's at the Garden which has really good food. I've only been there once but was very impressed by the quality of their apps.
